I got Cal Ripken’s, ANdy Pettit’ and Craig Biggio’s- three of my favorite baseball players…and I also got Kevin Bacon’s when he was in Alexandria playing with his band the Bacon Bros. at the Birchmere. If you’ve never listened to them, you should check them out…their song Guilty of the Crime is great! :)

MOORE ME… Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints! He and a few friends came into the restaurant I was working at and gave me his autograph…but I got it for a friend of mine who loves him. I figured the brownie points were worth it since he would appreciate the paper so much more. And on the reverse of that, a friend of mine snagged Donald Glover’s (of Community and Derrick Comedy fame) for me at a music festival. He signed it “I <3 Trisha Donald" I was star struck just from holding a piece of paper!

As for an autograph, at 14 my girlfriend and I went to a Tim McGraw concert (when he was still small enough to play rural county fairs) and I waited 30 minutes for his keyboardist’s autograph. Not that I knew who ihe was or anything, but that man had mad hair whipping skills and pretty much brought the party to the whole set. All I had for him to sign was the edge of my blue Vans–which he surprisingly obliged.

Moore Me! My most prized autograph is from Lauren Bacall; I met her at a book signing in NYC in 2005, and she also sent me a signed photo one year for my birthday. Back in the 1990s, I met Peter Mayle, author of “A Year in Provence,” at a book-signing, and he autographed all the books I owned by him.

The most random thing regarding a celebrity person would be a weird picture of me somewhere in my parent’s house in 1985 at three years of age sitting on George Lindsey’s lap. He was the Southern-born character actor who played dim hayseed Goober Pyle, the genial gas station auto mechanic on “The Andy Griffith Show” and “Mayberry R.F.D.”. This picture ranks below one of me with a chimpanzee at a state fair, though.

As a kid went to a Yankees games with my parents. We (my sister and me) arrived early brought our autograph books. We were so excited. We got four or five “players” to sign. It wasn’t til years later we our mom told us it was the ground crew. Those guys are probably union so they might still be working there. Can I Internet anyone in their autograph. We are going to need to win this week to redo our living room because chances are no one is buying those autographs.
