I have Lucille Ball’s autograph on a standard studio black and white headshot of her, but it’s the companion black and white photo that makes the autograph special. We received it at a personal appearance by Lucy, promoting her new show in the late 60’s in Monterey, California.
The second photo is a professional shot of Lucille Ball with my baby sister’s hand (who was less than three months old) wrapped around her index finger as baby sis rests in the crook of my grandmother’s arm, as Lucy also talks to a giggling three-year-old me lifted up by my mom so I’m eye to eye with the star. In my hand is the very same autographed photo of Lucy that I still own.
All of us are laughing. This photo appeared in the local paper, whose photographer was kind enough to develop an 8×10 glossy copy for us back in the day.
It’s the best photo of all the female members of my immediate family that I own.

A few years ago I met Bono from U2 while in the US embassy in Dublin, I was too shell shocked to even say a word, forget ask for an autograph..but he did say hi and asked if i was OK (i probably looked like I was going to pass out!).

Don Cherry…. His daughter was having a baby at the hospital I worked at and he happened to come by to the desk to chat with us all and I told him my son loved all his Rock’em Sock’em Hockey videos and he pulled out a picture out of his pocket and autographed it and I was so excited to bring it home to my son.

My son and I were at a hockey game here in Dallas (GO STARS) and I saw Mike Modano up in a suite, my son had his Dallas Stars dressed build-a-bear and we waved it at him-and he let us come up and he signed it! My son was in awe :)

I have a collection of funny autographs. My most recent is from JJ Heller. I requested she sing “the spork song” but she wasn’t able to, so she drew a spork for me.
My favorite is an autographed KJ-52 CD from when I worked backstage with him. He wrote “try forklifting!” on the CD, which has a great story to it!
