My house is covered in partially painted walls! I love Benjamin Moore and the tiny paint samples. But if you ever come over please don’t look behind that large painting in the living room… because it covered with about 5 different paint samples that I can’t decide on! Primer anyone?
Also I got Kevin Nealon’s autograph on a receipt from when I saw him at the Art Museum I worked at in Grand Rapids, MI about 10 years ago. His post SNL but pre Weeds days.

I’ve never gotten anyone’s autograph, sorry! But one thing I do love is getting an anniversary card from good friends every year. The family of five all signs it and my favorite is reading what each girl has to say (ranging from 18-9). They’re funny and adorable all at once.

I have LaVar Burton’s autograph on a paper napkin, which I snagged when I was 17, by approaching him and his family in the most awkward way at Universal Studios saying “I’m the biggest fan of Reading Rainbow and Star Trek.” Yep, I’m that nerd. Also, I’m pretty sure everyone tells him that.

I don’t think I have any famous people’s signatures. My aunt used to be an agent for some pretty unknown country singers in Nashville and when I was maybe 5 years old I got an autographed poster from a singer named Shawn Camp who wrote “Howdy little darlin'” and then signed it. I don’t know if that counts since no one knows who he is ha ha!

Orange Island was my first and only signature. They were a local punk/alternative band from Clinton, MA near my hometown. I was obsessed, so much so, that I’m noted in their CD liner as “super fan Joanna.” Unfortunately, they broke up. RIP OI.

I went to a live taping of the Jay Leno show with a few friends. After the show, we noticed people waiting for the celebrities to leave. After about 15 minutes of waiting, Jay Leno left in his charger and stopped at the end of the driveway where fans were standing. I went up to his car and actually got his autograph, only a few people actually went up to his car. But he was very nice and gave me his autograph! :)

I got the entire Broadway cast’s autograph from Phantom of the Opera when it toured to LA, in the 90’s. That entailed multiple trips to see the show, and a few extra trips to wait backstage when a Broadway cast member was visiting the show for a few days. Don’t ask. It seemed like a stellar idea at the time!

My best friend from library school scored me a personalized, signed copy of David Sedaris’s “Me Talk Pretty One Day” (He wrote, “Everybody thinks you’re a lesbian”). Then last summer, a friend of my daughter’s not only got us tickets to see Dierks Bentley at RIR (he played thru a HUGE thunderstorm), but also snagged me a personalized, signed photo that I framed and hung in my TV/reading area. I’m a lucky gal!
