We love us some Candice Olson (and still pinch ourselves that our faces share a webpage with her over on BenjaminMoore.com). So we sweet talked our way into a little Benjamin Moore / Candice Olson prize for you guys – including a signed copy of her latest book, Candice Olson Bedrooms.     MOORE ME!
    I’m not super big on getting autographs or meeting celebrities (though I do love Candace!), but I do have a sort of “autograph” story. When I was in grade school my dad used to keep a copy of his signature handy in case we needed him to “sign” something from school. If he wasn’t home or if we left it until the last minute, my sister and I could just trace his signature for him. Saved him the trouble!

    MOORE ME! My favourite autograph is one from Freddie Mercury (lead singer of Queen) given to me by my parents for my high school graduation. Given that he had passed away years before it was a great find on their part!

    I met Tamara Pierece, my absolute favorite author, during Dragon Con a few years ago. I didn’t even know she’d be attending, so it made for a very special signature. Thanks for the giveaway!

    MOORE ME! I never got anyone’s autograph however my best near-celebrity experience would have to be sharing a plane with David Beckham and walking by him in First Class to get to my seat! Hubba-hubba! Thanks for the giveaway.

    Moore Me!

    Well, I actually have an interesting story. When I started on twitter, I followed one of my geek icons… Wil Wheaton.

    Fast forward a couple years, and Wil’s wife Anne joins twitter. She’s cool, so I follow her too. She interacts a lot more with people, since she’s not as “famous”, and she and I talk quite a bit.

    Fast forward again! Hubs and I get to meet them both at w00tstock in San Francisco, January 2012. We get an awesome pic with Wil, Paul & Storm, Adam Savage, Grant Imahara, and Chris Hardwick, among others.

    Being a person who loves to send gifts, I send them some home made apple butter and goodies for Christmas, and in return I get an awesome thank you card, signed by both Anne and Wil! They’re both such awesome, down to earth people.

    MOORE ME!

    I have never been much of an autograph chaser, and I don’t have kids or nieces and nephews either, so no artwork autographs for me either, although when I was kid and I got sick – really sick, like out-with-the-flu-for-a-whole-week sick, my Dad would stop at the bookstore on the way home from work and buy me a book to help the time pass when I was otherwise feeling icky. He always wrote a message to me in the front and signed it ‘Love, Dad’.

    I have Leann Rimes (she came to the Target I worked at to promote her CD) and Josh Kelley’s (won from an online sweepstakes) autograph. As well as The Toadies, Drowning Pool and Cold; all bands that I went to see and did a meet and greet.

    No other autographs, but I saw Stacy Keebler in an airport once way back before she was on Dancing with the Stars and only my husband knew who she was from watching wrestling obsessivley at the time. :)

    MOORE ME! I have some autographs on tennis balls I got from the US Open – I can’t remember who they are…some male player. That’s bad, I know!

    Ok really embarrassing, but I got the autographs of the parents of NKOTB when I was like 11. Not New Kids themselves, but waited in line for a million hours to meet their parents!

    I got Dr. Ben Carson’s (world-famous neurosurgeon) autograph for my daughter when she was in elementary school. Nerdy/geeky, yes, but she loved it.

    MOORE ME!! Sadly, the only autographs I’ve gotten were from Disney World when I was 10 years old of all the Disney characters… I sure did have a lot of fun getting them though! :)

    I used to work at a famous resort in Santa Barbara so I’ve gotten the signaures of almost all the A-list celebrities……didn’t get to keep them though, the signatures were all on their bills!! lol

    Moore me!

    I once got an autograph from Helen Thomas for my dad after bumping into her in an Indian restaurant. She wrote a nice little note about what a great daughter I was!
