Fab Freebie: Moore Candice To Love

*** This contest is now closed – see who won below!***

And this week’s random winner is… Stacy (who says “when I was little, I got the local radio dj’s autograph and thought I was so cool! Looking back, it is just funny how silly it was!”). Congrats Stacy!

We love us some Candice Olson (and still pinch ourselves that our faces share a webpage with her over on BenjaminMoore.com). So we sweet talked our way into a little Benjamin Moore / Candice Olson prize for you guys – including a signed copy of her latest book, Candice Olson Bedrooms. So once you’ve torn yourself away from petting her signature (not that we’d do that, ok we totally would) and are ready to put that Olson-spiration to use, Benjamin Moore’s gonna lend a hand with two gallons of their Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, a $50 gift card, and your very own Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck. And if that’s not enough of a Candice fix for ya, you can enter to win a personal design consultation from her over on Benjamin Moore’s site.

Benjamin Moore Giveaway2

  • PRIZE: Two gallons of Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, $50 gift card, a Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck and signed copy of Candice Olson Bedrooms courtesy of Benjamin Moore.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MOORE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what other autograph have you snagged? Did you get your favorite band to sign an album cover? Or receive a signed letter from a big name public figure? Maybe you got a big novelty check signed by Ed McMahon? Or just a sweet crayon-drawing signed by a niece or nephew?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Sept 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada (we couldn’t leave out Candice’s homeland!)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Benjamin Moore.

    Moore me!

Vanilla Ice! But in like 2004… way after he was over, yet I still reverted back to my 3rd grade self and could not talk to him! My coworker finally made me go talk to him and he signed a poster, took a pic and gave a hug. I just remember saying, you smell really good.

Moore Me! So the most prized autograph I have is my autographed Tori Amos t-shirt which my mom had custom framed for me. I was obsessed with her in my late teens through my twenties. However my best autograph story was when my friend and I bought half price tickets to see the Wallflowers in Orlando. The venue was practically empty and at the end of the show some guy came up and just gave us backstage passes. We went for the free drinks and food. Eventually Jakob Dylan walked by us and my friend turned to him and actually said, “Oh, while you’re here, you might as well sign this.” and handing him her backstage pass to sign. I just about died trying not to laugh. He was very gracious about it and we always joke about the time we were so blase about meeting The Wallflowers.

Moore me! I’ve been given a few autographed books, but never got anything from anyone I super looked up to. Wait, I take that back – when I was in middle school, I was really into this Contemporary Christian Music artist named Carman. Through some connections my Dad made, he got us backstage passes and autographed CDs and we got to meet him before the show. It was awesome to 12 year old me. I was freaking out.

MOORE ME! Come to think of it, I don’t really have anything signed besides an Ann Patchett book. BUT we went to a comedy show this weekend with the guys from the show Sullivan & Son – they handed out signed pictures there, so I guess I am getting into the autograph game!

So…I’m kind of a nerd. Actually, a huge nerd. I have several signed copies of things by Neil Gaiman, but the best one ever was when I drove from DC to NYC to hear him do a reading on my birthday and he signed my copy of Ultimate Sandman with his signature plus a picture of Dream holding a balloon. By the way, he’s really, really nice.
