Fab Freebie: Moore Candice To Love

*** This contest is now closed – see who won below!***

And this week’s random winner is… Stacy (who says “when I was little, I got the local radio dj’s autograph and thought I was so cool! Looking back, it is just funny how silly it was!”). Congrats Stacy!

We love us some Candice Olson (and still pinch ourselves that our faces share a webpage with her over on BenjaminMoore.com). So we sweet talked our way into a little Benjamin Moore / Candice Olson prize for you guys – including a signed copy of her latest book, Candice Olson Bedrooms. So once you’ve torn yourself away from petting her signature (not that we’d do that, ok we totally would) and are ready to put that Olson-spiration to use, Benjamin Moore’s gonna lend a hand with two gallons of their Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, a $50 gift card, and your very own Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck. And if that’s not enough of a Candice fix for ya, you can enter to win a personal design consultation from her over on Benjamin Moore’s site.

Benjamin Moore Giveaway2

  • PRIZE: Two gallons of Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, $50 gift card, a Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck and signed copy of Candice Olson Bedrooms courtesy of Benjamin Moore.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MOORE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what other autograph have you snagged? Did you get your favorite band to sign an album cover? Or receive a signed letter from a big name public figure? Maybe you got a big novelty check signed by Ed McMahon? Or just a sweet crayon-drawing signed by a niece or nephew?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Sept 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada (we couldn’t leave out Candice’s homeland!)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Benjamin Moore.

My best celebrity story doesn’t deal with an autograph. I next to Usher and Chili in 2002 when they were dating at an Italian restaurant in Mexico. Chili complimented me on my silver bracelet I had bought the day before. I kindly gave her directions on how to get to the little shop. I GAVE A CELEBRITY ADVICE ON WHERE TO BUY SOMETHING!! ;)

    MOORE ME!!

Back in my teenage days, when I was a hockey groupie, I got the autographs of several NHL players.

Once I hit the powerball lottery, I plan to fly Mike Holmes in to fix my house and Candice Olson in to decorate. *Sigh* Until then, though, this gift from Benjamin Moore would be killer!

MOORE ME! I have a signed poster from Mike Doughty (and had my photo taken with him on the same night). Who’s that, you ask? Mike is the former lead singer of Soul Coughing, a band that split up in the 90’s. He’s been solo for quite some time, and I see him play whenever he comes to town, which is pretty much every year.

MOORE ME! I got Kelle Hampton to sign my book this past Summer while she was in Michigan. If I had the pictures, I would send them because in one I’m totally crying, she’s holding my baby and Kelle is smiling. The next pic is me crying, I made Kelle laugh and the kid is just staring straight ahead like, “come on Mom, get it together.”

All of my good celebrity stories don’t involve autographs. I used to work in radio, and when I was an intern I was in charge of a fan meet-and-greet with Fall Out Boy. Nicest guys ever! And this is funny: they were just as nervous to meet their fans as the fans were to meet them. It was right after they got famous, and they were so freaked out. It was adorable.

MOORE ME! I’m re-painting the interior of my house as we speak and could use some help! I have a book and a painting signed by my little brother (now 44). He’s not famous…well, unless you are a big history buff or unless you are his big sister. ;-) He’s a college professor and has writen many books. To top it all off he’s an amazing artist. I may be just a tad biased but I just couldn’t let this opportunity go by without bragging on him!!! Oh, and, yea, that Benjamin Moore/Candice Olsen thing had a little to do with it. She’s amazing!

I unwittingly got a signed picture of a past President who I did NOT support — it was a gag from my friends who know how much I would never want such a autograph. My roommate at the time supported that “other” political party, so she happily kept the signed pic on our fridge the four years we lived together, which always got a laugh out of visitors.

I worked at an upscale Hotel for 3 years and saw quite a few celebrities(which the majority were not very pleasant), but never once asked for an autograph. Unless you count them signing the bill? If so, some of my favorites were Zac Efron, Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen, and Nicole Kidman. Ugh, I swear I’m not trying to drop names to be the cook kid. ha

I used to write to celebrities all the time as a kid and most sent back a signed pic… Elizabeth Taylor, John Travolta, ALOT of soap stars but the BEST has to be a congratulatory card from President & Mrs. Obama in regards to our wedding. If you send them an invite their office sent back a congrats with their signatures. It’s framed in our apt!!
