Fab Freebie: Moore Candice To Love

*** This contest is now closed – see who won below!***

And this week’s random winner is… Stacy (who says “when I was little, I got the local radio dj’s autograph and thought I was so cool! Looking back, it is just funny how silly it was!”). Congrats Stacy!

We love us some Candice Olson (and still pinch ourselves that our faces share a webpage with her over on BenjaminMoore.com). So we sweet talked our way into a little Benjamin Moore / Candice Olson prize for you guys – including a signed copy of her latest book, Candice Olson Bedrooms. So once you’ve torn yourself away from petting her signature (not that we’d do that, ok we totally would) and are ready to put that Olson-spiration to use, Benjamin Moore’s gonna lend a hand with two gallons of their Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, a $50 gift card, and your very own Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck. And if that’s not enough of a Candice fix for ya, you can enter to win a personal design consultation from her over on Benjamin Moore’s site.

Benjamin Moore Giveaway2

  • PRIZE: Two gallons of Aura paint, a 7-piece applicator kit, $50 gift card, a Candice Olson Design Picks fan deck and signed copy of Candice Olson Bedrooms courtesy of Benjamin Moore.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MOORE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what other autograph have you snagged? Did you get your favorite band to sign an album cover? Or receive a signed letter from a big name public figure? Maybe you got a big novelty check signed by Ed McMahon? Or just a sweet crayon-drawing signed by a niece or nephew?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Sept 12th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States & Canada (we couldn’t leave out Candice’s homeland!)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Benjamin Moore.

I took a cooking class with Julia Child in the early 1990s and had her sign not only my diploma, but also my original two volumes of “Mastering the Art of French Cooking.” I have the framed diploma on display in my kitchen, but the cookbooks are nowhere near any splatters or spills!

MOORE ME! While getting a CD signed by one of my favourite artists (Mason Jennings) a few years ago was pretty cool, I would have to say the 5 year old me was probably a lot more excited to get a book filled with signatures from Disney characters when we visited Disney World…many many moons ago!

This summer, the band Train came to RVA and we took our son (who uses a wheelchair). At the end of the show, Pat Monahan came down off the stage and presented him with a guitar, autographed by all of the members of the band. An unbelievable moment!! (And my favorite band EVER! from now on)

I think the most exciting signature I ever got was when I was a kid, and I loved reading the Babysitter’s Club books. My mom’s godmother happened to know the author, Ann M. Martin, and got her to write me a note. I was totally ecstatic when it came in the mail.

Moore me! My first autograph was a postcard from Tori Spelling when she was Donna on “90210” in third grade (it was a class project to write to a celebrity. WTF was I doing watching 90210 when I was 8-9 years old?!). Now I squee over author- and actor-graphs, like the ones I got from Renee Zellweger and Hugh Grant at the London premiere of “Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason” during my study abroad, and my hilariously inappropriate one from Patrick Rothfuss in his first epic novel, “The Name of the Wind.”
