Fab Freebie: Matchmaker, Matchmaker

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Our winner, thanks to the willy nilly matchmaking skills of random.org, is… Sharon (who’s hoping to be matched up with a piece of art to finish off a master bedroom renovation). Congrats!

Art.com is full of affordable stuff to help solve Naked Wall Syndrome (like these horse prints that we recently purchased) so we’re psyched that they’re giving away an $250 gift card to one of you lucky folks this week. They’ve launched a new tool called Match My Image that promises to come in handy next time you’re hunting for the perfect piece. You just upload an image – maybe of a fabric that you’re trying to coordinate or a photo that you’re using as inspiration – and it spits out a slew of art in that color scheme/vein that’s available for purchase. Here’s what we happened upon when we uploaded a couple of personal pictures (a photo of the river here in Richmond and a painting that Clara recently whipped up). Fun, right?

ArtDotComGiveaway

  • PRIZE: A $250 gift card to Art.com
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “MATCH ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us if you’ve ever tried playing matchmaker? Or has someone else tried to match you up? How did it all work out? Was it amazing? Or should you (or your would-be matchmaker) stick to their day job?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, July 13th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday morning for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We weren’t paid or perk’d for hosting this giveaway, we just take them on to reward our lovely readers! See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Art.com.

    MATCH ME!

My best friend’s mom once tried to match me up with her pretty recently divorced son… I like him well enough, and might even be interested in dating him, but that’s just a situation full of awkward waiting to happen when explanations come up. Thankfully it never got past the planning stages on her part, my friend convinced her to stop matchmaking, and he never found out about it.

    MATCH ME!!

I can’t stand matchmaking. It creates even more awkwardness than blind dates because you’re nervous about either upsetting the matchmakers feelings or not being nice to your date because you know it’ll get back to them. Woof.

I’m currently the beneficiary/victim (depending on the day) of my friend Mary’s inadvertent matchmaking skills. No matchmaking was intended, but she did organize the happy hour where my boyfriend and I met. Does that count?

Well my boyfriend and I met online but it turned out we had a mutual friend… I called her to make sure he was a nice guy before we went out and she gave me the two thumbs up! Two and a half years later, we are moving in together (this week) and things couldnt be better! So we call her our matchmaker. :)

    MATCH ME!

I’ve made a couple of accidental matches that have turned out well, but I never played matchmaker per se. I paired my brother and my friend off as partners in my 18th birthday cotillion, and they’re still together today. I also gave a friend my yeast stuffed animal and told her to give it to her cute TA and tell him that she thought he was a “fun-guy” (though, not technically correct, I thought it was funny). She actually did it, and they’re getting married next year!

No fun match-making stories here… I would love to get my brother and good friend together, but I’m not really sure they would mesh so I’ve stayed out of it so far.

I have wanted to play matchmaker so so badly! My brother, will be 22 on July 18th and will not have officially dated anyone. He is a Ranch boy through and through and whom ever that lucky lady ends up being will have to be able to handle the life of a ranch wife (sounds like a romance novel lol)! I want to find him a good girl, any tips!

MATCH ME! . . . My husband and I were set up on a blind “get-your-roommmate-a-date” in college. It did not go well as we were both shy and it was awkward. We did, however, keep bumping into each other on campus afterwards and the little run-ins turned into a MATCH made in heaven. <3 We just celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary as well!

I opened my email and got the surprise of my life. I WON !!!
I am so pleased that I am almost speechless. Well anyone who knows me will say that is not possible.

I truly want to express my appreciation so here goes.

Thank you John & Sherry and Art.com because I have wanted this final touch for my master bedroom but have held off due to budget reasons. Now because of your wonderful blog and Art.com’s generosity I will be able to finish my room.

I will send a photo in after I get my art so everyone can see what I chose as my prize.

    Thank you all,

    Sharon
