Fab Freebie: Market Fresh

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

This week’s giveaway comes to from two awesome sources of inspiration who are dishing out quite a worldly and wonderful prize for one lucky reader. First up is Fresh Home, one of the few magazines to buck the vanishing shelter pub trend and actually make its debut last year (you may have noticed them in our monthly sponsor shout out last week). This fresh quarterly mag focuses on home improvement and decor ideas for anyone with a finite budget who still wants to make their home beautiful. We can definitely relate. And in a genius turn of events, Fresh Home has teamed up with one of their (and our) favorite sources, Cost Plus World Market, to score an $100 gift card for one lucky YHL reader!

Fresh Home Mag 1

The great thing about Cost Plus World Market is that they’ve got such a wide range of offerings that you could practically do a whole room from there without it looking matchy-matchy in the least. They have everything from couches, coffee tables, and rugs to pillows, lighting, and accessories. Heck, we even purchased the seat cushions for our new office makeover and the rug in our master bedroom there.

Fresh Home World Market

So here’s the full monty on how you can enter this week:

  • PRIZE: $100 gift card to Cost Plus World Market courtesy of CPWM and Fresh Home Magazine.
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I’M FRESH” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … since the summer heat means feeling fresh is a rarity these days, why not tell us what you do to freshen up. A nice cool shower to start your day? A tall glass of lemonade when you come in from the heat? Or maybe a quick deodorant swipe or some mouthwash between meetings?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, August 18th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 50 United States
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck…

See our Giveaway FAQs page for more info. Pics from Cost Plus World Market and Fresh Home Magazine.

Our little one bedroom apartment doesn’t have air conditioning, so there’s not much that makes me feel freshened up these days…

    “I’M FRESH”

Unfortunately we dont have central air in our new house and although we live in Buffalo, NY the summers lately have been hot! After our last $230 electric bill from running 2 small window a/c units and one portable (guess they arent very energy efficient or electricity costs more here, or both), we are trying to stick it out with the windows open and fans going, but it isnt enough for me, so to keep fresh I have to take a couple of cold showers!! I am home with my kids all day , so I suffer more, lol! We do try to go places like the museum, library,Target, etc to escape the heat every once in a while!

    I’M FRESH!!!

On these hot summer days (in SoCal) my 3 year old daughter and I love taking long cool baths in our big bathtub in our bathing suits, and drinking ice cold strawberry lemonade, eating lots of refrigerated fruit, and hanging out in our awesome inflateable pool under our shady tree in our front yard. :-)

    I’M FRESH!!

I love to go down to the basement where it’s really cool and hop on the elliptical or do a quick workout video while the little one is sleeping. It allows me to renew my energy and feels so good when I’m done and can lay on the floor cooling off, enjoying the peace and quiet.

    I’m fresh!

I use peppermint shower gel to wake up and refresh. I also keep pitchers of “spa water” in the fridge – just add slices of lemon and cucumber to a pitcher of water and chill. It’s amazingly refreshing and I feel healthier just for drinking it.

In Alabama, the summers are always hot and humid — a smother you type of humid. Therefore, tank tops, ponytails, and LOTS of deoderant are a must. As far as makeup, only mineral based foundations and tinted moisturizers are for me… no one likes a melting face… ;)

    I’M FRESH…

…every summer, when the heat starts to get unbearable, my husband and I start to plan our yearly snowboarding trip. This year, we started by buying new jackets (our old ones were falling apart!) – as soon as we got them in the mail, we bundled up in all our gear and starting dreaming about being on the slopes come winter. :)
