Fab Freebie: Market Fresh

This week’s giveaway comes to from two awesome sources of inspiration who are dishing out quite a worldly and wonderful prize for one lucky reader. First up is Fresh Home, one of the few magazines to buck the vanishing shelter pub trend and actually make its debut last year (you may have noticed them in our monthly sponsor shout out last week). This fresh quarterly mag focuses on home improvement and decor ideas for anyone with a finite budget who still wants to make their home beautiful. We can definitely relate. And in a genius turn of events, Fresh Home has teamed up with one of their (and our) favorite sources, Cost Plus World Market, to score an $100 gift card for one lucky YHL reader!

The great thing about Cost Plus World Market is that they’ve got such a wide range of offerings that you could practically do a whole room from there without it looking matchy-matchy in the least. They have everything from couches, coffee tables, and rugs to pillows, lighting, and accessories. Heck, we even purchased the seat cushions for our new office makeover and the rug in our master bedroom there.

    I’m Fresh…I put sliced fruit in the freezer, make sure to keep the hair up and off my neck by whatever means necessary, and I plant an oscillating fan somewhere nearby.

    I’m Fresh!

    By the time I make the long hike to my car in the 100+ degree weather, I feel terribly un-fresh. So I usually end up taking a shower as soon as I get home and getting in some comfy, cool clothes so I feel fresh and clean for the rest of my relaxing evening!

    I’M FRESH!!

    I take a slightly chilly shower after running with my Siberian Husky every morning…but it doesn’t take long before I turn it right back to piping hot! I’m one of those peeps that has red marks when I get out of the shower because it’s too hot! ;)

    To freshen up in the Tennessee heat, I’ve learned that mixing orange Listerine and water in a spray bottle works well! It definitely sounded weird to me when I first heard it, but it works wonders!

    I’m FRESH!

    I start with a luke warm shower and cool it down slowly until it’s practically ice cold! That keeps my bathroom cool and keeps me from breaking a sweat under the hair dryer.

    I’M FRESH!! I LOVE World Market! Lately I’ve been carrying around one of those little Dove Go Fresh sprays…they smell so lovely but aren’t too strong! Just enough to freshen up on the way to happy hour after work…

    I’m fresh! A little splash of lemon juice in a tall glass of cold water has been my must-have this summer. (Lemonade without the sugar! :)

    “I’M FRESH”

    When I come home I put on the lightest summer dress I have in my closet, wash my face, and drink a tall glass of water with plenty of ice cubes. I feel so dehydrated during these VA summers.

    I’M FRESH! My family and I beat the summer heat with homemade popsicles. I always have a batch in the freezer made from whatever fruit was on sale during the week…

    After a hot walk in humid St. Lou, my dog and I have to find a cool bit of grass in the shade to stretch out on and chill.

    I’M FRESH!

    I keep my roll on deodorant in the refrigerator so its nice and chilly whenever I feel the need to put it on!

    I also like to keep my coconut oil in there too. I use that as a moisturizer so it’s nice to rub on cold.

    I don’t get warm very easily (heck, I’m the crazy girl that wears sweaters when the heat index is 115!) but something about ice cream on a hot summer’s day just feels so right :)

    I’M FRESH! I like to start my morning off with a cool shower, and chewing gum after meals helps me feel fresh.

    I’m Fresh! When I am indoors I stay cool by avoiding cooking dinner in the oven and using fans along with the AC.
