Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!

The manliest thing about my husband is that he knows every bit of trivia about all Cleveland sports team. And he will happily sit out there at a game in below freezing weather.

The manliest thing about my Dad is pretty much everything he does. He worked so hard to provide for our family. Built all of our houses. Heats his house with wood (that he still cuts down/splits hisself) and was/is a stone mason. He’s a hard worker, a big eater and a quiet guy. I love that man!

    HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

There are so many qualities my husband has! I guess his best quality is that he wants to show love for his kids by loving his mom first! I love that about him. And also, he’s my handyman! He can fix anything around the house AND he LOVES to walk around Home Depot and swoon over all the tools!

Happy Father’s Day! My husband slept in the hospital bed with our 3 year old daughter this year when she was going through some problems. He layed there with his arm around her all night to make sure she felt safe. That’s a man.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My husband is a man…a real man. I don’t describe him as a “Dear Husband” or “Sweet Husband.” My girlfriends and sisters are ‘dear’ and ‘sweet’. Nope, my husband is the one who will go into a burning building to save a perfect stranger. He is a man of virtue, self-discipline and strength. After nearly 15 years of marriage and 4 biological children plus 3 adopted children, I am still amazed at how lucky I am to have him as my partner in life. I could not ask for a better example for my sons to emulate or my daughters to seek out in their own spouse.

Happy Father’s Day! I may be too late to enter the giveaway, but I wanted to share one of my favorite things about my dad: he taught me that I could fix anything. From working on a car to manning the power tools to start my own DIY projects. He’s taught me that as long as I’ve got the right resources, tools, elbow grease, and determination I can do anything myself. He’s always been great at empowering his little girl :)

Happy Father’s Day! We’ll be celebrating my dad — whose manliest quality is probably being grumpy during Sunday naps — and my wife (since Mother’s Day is apparently mine) who is also grumpy, but whose manliest quality is probably never having to get directions. Happy Father’s Day to my papa and my husband. One is horrible at DIY (sorry dad!) and the other one paints, refinishes, and builds like a professional (even though he has a completely different career). I love both of them very much and am glad our kids have them as role models. (Though very happy the DIYer is married to me and helps around the house!)

HAPPY FATHERS DAY! The person I would be giving this to is my dad. I admire him for many reasons but more recently his dedication. For 3 yrs he hand built his house on the weekends and paying for it as he built it. it was beautiful he had just finished the outside. In a split second it was demished to nothing but a pile of 2x4s, shingles, glass and siding by the tornado that came through Alabama last year. He was away driving a truck and came home to see all his hard work and home gone. He has worked hard to mentally to move forward but also physically and he has. He started rebuilding and is now at the point he was last year. To me he deserves this not only for being an amazing father but also for his dedication hard work and determination to not be brought down by something that was completely devastating. Thank you so much for the opportunity!!
