Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! I’d like to celebrate my dad this father’s day. There are so many manly things this man does – – he knows how to fix anything and everything. He is amazing at home projects. He is just the smartest man I know. He’s also an amazing husband to my mom and a great dad to 3 girls….

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! My dad was there for us when we remodeled our home. He almost lost 3 fingers to a power saw and it was one of the scariest moments of the whole process. But in the end we can point to the hardwood floors and say “blood, sweat and tears…for real.”

but more importantly, the way my husband adores and takes care of me and our 8 month daughter. We will celebrate his first Father’s Day this weekend!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My husband and I are pregnant with our first baby and I’m due any day! I’m kind of hoping our baby will come by Sunday so we can celebrate our first Father’s day!

His “manliest” quality is that he would much rather make/build something on his own rather than buy it. Our car has a broken window regulator. Should we take it to the repair shop?? Nah, let’s order the part and do it ourselves! We want a sailboat? Why don’t we build one? (Which is currently underway…)So that drill would definitely come in handy!

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!! My dad can make, fix or build anything. Some men golf for relaxation, my dad re-wires the basement. I joke that if something looks like it may need to be fixed soon my dad breaks it just so he can fix it.

Not only can my dad fix anything for himself, but he can find me a cab at 2am when I call from Paris and he can talk me through installing a light kit on my fan when he’s hundreds of miles away. I may be one girly girl who wears high heels every day, but my dad taught me how to work a power drill as well – which comes in handy when needing to add extra closet space! ;)

Unfortunately, this left some pretty high standards for my poor boyfriend who is more the office type than the handyman.

    Thanks Dad!
