Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    Happy Father’s Day!!

My brother became a father on Thursday. It’s amazing. I called him Saturday to see how things were going and he said, “I’m so in love with her. I had to mow the lawn and I missed her the whole time”… It’s awesome to see a love like that!!

My dad is the manliest guy I know. He’s a football coach, a horseman, and a rancher. Right now he has a shop that could use some TLC, this gift card would sure get the ball rolling!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! The manliest quality of my Dad is being patient enough to teach anyone how to use tools. The fact that my Dad had all girls didn’t slow him down a bit on getting us down to the woodshop. I’m the only woman I know who got a Compound miter for Christmas and was stoked. Dad and I spent hours working in the shop together while I was growing up and those are the times I’ll be celebrating with him next weekend.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My father in law is the type of guy who will drive 14 hours from IL to NC to spend three weeks painting all the rooms in my house and plaining doors so they will shut (only exterior doors would actually latch when we first moved in). In a word he is awesome.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

I love how my husband rough-houses with our son and daughter. Growing up, his only brother had pretty bad asthma and his dad has a blood disorder that means he bleeds for hours from a papercut, so DH had no one to horse around with as a kid. His dream was that some day he’d have a son or daughter to wrestle on the rug or give horsey rides to. I grew up with a 6’6″ dad who tossed us around like potato sacks, so I love watching DH get his childhood wish!
