Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

He is well into his 60’s, but still works to provide for his family. Doesn’t hurt that he very much enjoys what he does for a living. (He’s a roofer!…at 60!)

My husband, the father of my daughter, is the most awesome father/husband ever (no offense John). He is the manly man that I always dreamed of, but still a softy at heart. He loves our little family with everything he has, and still finds time to go to school full time, work full time and build furniture :)

Happy Father’s Day! I just love that my Dad literally knows how to fix and build ANYTHING. And he’s a wonderful teacher; he’s been great to show me and my husband everything we need to know about remodeling our home! I find a lot of inspiration on your blog and I love the reward you can gain from doing the work yourself and the bonding it brings in a family!

I love watching my husband with our 7 month old son. He could be talking “baby language” and tickling our son, and it’s the most attractive thing I’ve ever seen. On top of being an amazing father, he cooks and fixes things around the house. If anything needs to be hung up, he’s right there with a hammer and nail. I love him so much!

    Happy Fathers Day!

My dad is SUPER handy, I love that he lives close enough to help us out with our projects. My husband – father to our 2 boys and 1 baby girl on the way – is supportive of my DIY attempts and helps out with the heavy lifting. He is not really handy, he actually hates building things/putting things together, which makes me wonder how in the world he became an Eagle Scout. Isn’t building stuff like a prerequisite??
