Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! My husband’s manliest quality? Hard to stop at one. He has the confidence that he can build and repair anything, but still knows his limits. He will not touch any electrical components, thankfully!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My dad is really good at creating things; he always made the best Halloween costumes and props! In general he knows a lot and I always ask his advice on things, artistic or for around the house!

I love how my dad attempts to fix everything on his own, even if he has no idea what he is doing. Somehow, he usually ends up figuring it out!!

My pops adopted me when I was 23, and it was definitely something he didn’t have to do, but it was his idea, and he really wanted to do it. It makes me appreciate Father’s Day that much more.

We’re headed to my dads. The manliest qualities in the men in our family. They’re not squeemish about picking up tampons for the ladies when they’re really hurting.

I love my super awesome dad! He spent my childhood being Mr. Fixit. He would go to work and come home and keep working. He is remembered in his younger years as the guy who helped with everything:) He was diagnosed with MS when I was a little girl. Now I am all grown up and he can no longer do these things. He is teaching my husband, my son’s father how to do all of the things he did when I was young! My husband is now the man doing the jobs in my father’s house and I couldn’t be more proud nor blessed with both of them! I am so happy that my son will be taught all of the things my dad is teaching my husband! The 2 best dads I know!!!

    Happy fathers day!!

Probably that my sons first words were “da” followed by “Dadda”, because he got that excited every day when his best friend came through the door saying “fee fi fo fum…” and making great faces at our baby boy. That and who doesn’t think a daddy making a fool out of himself for the sake of baby giggles isn’t manly? :)

    Happy Father’s Day!

I came across a blog post – I can’t remember what blog – but it said when you look at a guy and think “I want my son to be just like him,” you know you’re on the right track. It sounds trite, when I put it like that…but I understand it. My husband is funny as hell, has a huge heart, is compassionate and is damned smart. We’re still in the TTC stages but I look forward to seeing him be a dad. :)

“Happy Father’s Day!” The manliest quality of the father of my children would be his servant’s heart. He loves serving his family in many, many ways. He is the handy man, the picture hanger, the gardener, ……He has always been willing to work extremely hard for our family. And one of his favorite things is to fix yummy breakfasts for us on Sundays. Nothing beats his special spice pancakes!
