Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    Happy Father’s Day!

For the past twelve years my hubby has been proudly serving the USAF but for all his courage, DIY well and truly scares him. When we first wed, we had to change out the plug on the new washer/dryer we’d bought and for some strange reason his common sense tripped off and he felt the need to plug it in before it was hooked up. He blew every fuse in the house but due to blind luck or the combat boots he’d had on, he wasn’t hurt. After that getting him to do anything more than hammer, twist, lift or hold has been slow going.

But he still tries, to make me happy and to me there is nothing more manlier than when my significant other still wants to impress me after all these years together :D

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! My hubby (a daddy of two) is a Navy Seabee; his manliest quality, I think, is his ability to do ANY job, no matter what tools or supplies are at his disposal and regardless of how many people it should take (but aren’t available) to get the job done. He can do it all!

Happy Father’s Day! My hubster is the all around man’s man; he can fix/build anything, hunt, fish, camp, rebuild Jeeps and grill a mean steak. But what I love most about my rough and tumble man is that he is putty in our kids’ hands, now that’s a real man.

Have a great father’s day John!

I admire my Dad for so many reasons! The #1 reason being that he taught me I can work my way through anything. He showed me that I can do anything with a little bit (a lot!)of research, hard work, a TON of patience, and measuring twice :)

(and it’s okay to screw up! You can always start over…)
