Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

My husband is the father of 5. One of his manliest qualities is the ability to know which direction he is going in, not matter what. So he really never needs to ask directions, and we always get there.

HAPPY FATHERS’ DAY! My dad really does know how to fix everything, and I have set my precedent of how manly I consider the men I have dated based on how many things they can/can’t do that my dad can do. The bar is pretty high!

My favorite manly quality in my husband is the way he plays with our daughter- nothing says “I’m secure in my manhood” more than not being too self conscience to have a tea party with a two year old. Or build a pink Lego rocket ship.

Happy Father’s Day!! I’ll be celebrating with my dad, my father in law and both grandfathers in law! The quality I love most about all of them (and my hubby who isn’t a dad yet) is their ability to fix anything, no sweat. My dad is even buffing out a scrape on my car before our father’s day BBQ. What a trooper!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

Physically, my husband’s manliest trait is his epic beard. Past that, I love that he’s super sentimental and not afraid to show emotion (he cries more than me), he’s a total softie when it comes to our cats (he refuses to get up if there’s a cat sleeping on him), and he sits and reads and talks to my pregnant stomach for hours on end.

The father I celebrate this week is the father of my step-children — making him my husband but not the father of my own children. Nevertheless, he’s the guy I love and live with. He is the handiest and hardest-working guy I know, and I am so glad that we live together because he works HARD all the time to make our home comfortable and functional. Besides, he’s a great cook!
