Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    Happy Father’s day!

Not all in-laws get along, but my husband and dad are actually really close. It means a lot to my husband since he lost his dad a couple years before we met. Now he can look up to and count on advice and help from my dad. They are currently working on finishing part of our basement and it is so great to watch them work together :)

My husband can do anything…bake a delcious apple pie, lay a tile floor, coach our daughter’s softball team, build furniture, complete an Ironman trialthon and read bedtime stories. He is the best.

    Happy Father’s Day!

The manliest thing about my dad is that he cries. He doesn’t cry constantly but he isn’t afraid to cry. He often get choked up when he tells my sister and me how much he loves us and how proud he is of us. I can’t think of a more manly trait than being able to show the people you love that you are moved to tears with gratitude for them.

    “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!”

This year is my husband’s FIRST Father’s Day, we will welcome our firstborn son this September and we couldn’t be more excited!

The most manliest thing my husband has done involved crushing a roach that he found in my college apartment while we were dating (with his hand!!!) because he didn’t have time to grab a paper towel before it crawled away and didn’t want to alarm me to the fact that a roach was in my place.

I hate them and would never have slept well ever again.

I have the deepest admiration for my husband because he takes so much time to simply spend with our son—he plays with him, reads to him, tends to every aspect of his care whenever he can. He is a true father to our boy and he’ll be a better man for it.
