Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

The manliest thing about my Dad is that he was in the Air Force for 23 years and retired a Colonel. So proud of him and all that he has accomplished!!

    Happy Father’s Day!!

We’ll be celebrating with my dad and father-in-law who both recently just got Harley’s after 20+ years of not having one. (They both used to own them when they were young). They’re both on cloud 9 with their new toys. Nothing says manly like a Harley, right?! ;)

    Happy Father’s Day!

One of my favorite “manly” qualities about my dad is how he desperately tries to pretend he’s not such a big softie. I love how he clears his throat, kicks the ground, and asks me about my car when he’s sad that I’m leaving to go back to school in an attempt to hide that he’s all misty-eyed.

My dad is a big guy with a deep voice, he really used to scare my boyfriends back in high school. It has been beyond surprising (and wonderful) to see what a giant softie he is for his grandbabies. He is TOTAL MUSH…and he changes diapers.

Happy Father’s Day! This qualifies as manly in my mind: my father has always been extremely proud of his children and continues to tell us as often as he can how proud he is that he’s been able to help mold us into the adults that we are today. His manliest quality is being my biggest cheerleader.

I don’t know if it’s quite “manly” but my dad has the ability to remember everything from the 3 newspapers he reads each and every single day. Months, even years later. Great memory people! If that’s not very manly…my dad is great at figuring out every DIY task at hand. Plumbing? Check. Remodeling? Check. Electrical? Check. Gee, gotta love our fathers out there!
