Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    Happy Father’s Day

The manliest thing about my dad is that he can build, fix, or grow anything with nothing more than some tools and a box of junk he uses for spare parts.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! My Superdad’s manliest quality is not his mustache (he can’t grow one), or his ability to fix everything (since I hold the best plumber/painter awards), but his hero status. He’s a firefighter who save babies and kittens (at least that’s what he says he does when he’s too tired to make his own sandwich).

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

I have three sisters. When we were younger, we were all obssessed with all sorts of girly things including dresses with sashes that tied into bows. We’d line up to have our dad tie these sashes into fat fluffy bows, I don’t know why/how this became his “job” but he was very good at it!

The manliest thing about my husband (and father of my child and bun in the oven) is his desire to support and love our family. And he rocks out whenever he had the head phones in, especially if he is doing yard work.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! My Dad’s manliest quality has to be his outdoorsiness. He’s a biologist, so I guess it’s not much a surprise, but he’d never turn down an opportunity to turn something gross (owl pellets, dead critters, scat, etc.) into an interesting nature lesson.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

You probably don’t hear this everyday, but the MANLIEST thing about my padre is his inane ability on the phone. I’m not just talking telephone etiquette, either, though he’s got that down. My dad’s one of those people that can call the cable company and get them, magically, to somehow reduce the cost of the monty bill by $15/mo and throw in a couple bonus channels just because. He’s the guy you want to call to complain about the poor service at a restaurant, or about an error on your bank statement, because somehow he always gets it fixed. Usually, it’s not just fixed, but there’s an extra sumthin-sumthin for his trouble. I’m in awe.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

To my dear husband, who hung our TV over our fireplace last weekend (with a wall bracket made of aluminum that we found at Ikea for $20!!!), and is now in the process of routing the wires through the wall, so that they can be hidden on their way to the components shelf on an opposite wall.

Kind of funny, but I am trying to find a nice bit set with a case for Father’s Day, as his is older and a lot of the bits he has used over and over are becoming stripped. What a great compliment this freebie would be to the gift!

    Fingers crossed!
