Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My father was able to fix nearly anything when we were growing up. One of my favorite memories was when he would dry our hair (I’m one of 3 girls) on Sat. night.

Happy Father’s Day! I’m a homeowner and my neighbor asked me if the man that comes over all the time with his ladder is my landlord. I told him “no” that he is my father. He loves to do little projects around my house and I’m so lucky to have him to do all those little projects.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!! I know a lot of folks will say that the manliest quality of their dad is what they can do… for me, though, the manliest quality of my dad was what he chose NOT to do. My dad is a perfectionist and a wonderful employee but he consistently chose to spend time with us kids rather than work the normal overtime. He even took less pay (and traded salary for vacation time) in order to do that. Because of his commitment to me (and my siblings), I have wonderful home improvement memories. We laid floors together, repaired drywall, wallpapered, painted, and did a ton of yardwork. I have better diy skills than my husband now and I owe it all to my dad. Those are honestly some of my best childhood memories.

    Happy Father’s Day!

My husband and I just bought our very first home (a ranch!) and one of the manliest things I’ve seen him do lately is carry a queen sized memory foam (heavy!) mattress down 4 flights of stairs at our old apartment and haul it into our new home… BY HIMSELF. Love that strong man.

Unfortunately my own dad has passed, but the manliest thing he ever did was just be a solid rock for my family. He was also an amazing carpenter ;)

My man’s manliest quality is his ability to tinker and fix anything and everything, even better than it was before! I love my husband of almost 32 years and that, is alot of fixin’ and doin’-it-ourselves! My father, who was a carpenter, died when I was 6 and I don’t remember alot of him, but being married to my man makes me love the man my dad must have been. I love seeing my man in the garage workign with wood. The smell of sawdust makes me think of my dad when I used to play along side of him with scraps of wood he’d give me…Thanks for this chance to win and the opportunity to go back in time a bit…

My Dad is willing to help me with just about any project…just as long as I don’t try to hurt myself or in fear that occurring! He is a great person who practically built our home I grew up in and I can always count on him when I need something in my new home. The best part is he always seems to forget his tools and buys me gadgets for my house! So I have quite the collection!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!! My husband is great at making furniture for our new home! So far he’s made a farm house table and an outdoor dining table (soon to have two benches) and his next project is a king sized bed. He has the help of Ana White but I think it’s pretty amazing! He could use that drill and gift card!
