Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    Happy Fathers Day!

My husband built twin captain beds for my daughters, put up a fence and built an adorondock chair from the old fence wood. Doesn’t get much manlier than that!

    Happy Father’s Day!

Yes, I love that my Father can fix anything (my husband cannot!) I am blessed with a wonderful Dad.

But, nothing makes me happier than seeing my cutie husband laughing & wrestling with his four boys!!! I am double blessed with him as my mate.

The manliest thing about my dad is that he has his own woodworking business out of our home, but when we were younger, he would take the whole day off in the summer just to play Monopoly with me and my sisters.

I looooove that my dad has always been able to maintain and fix our cars. I have never taken my car to a mechanic because my dad loves to work on them. My son, who is 6, loves to “help” him now, which makes for great bonding time between the two (:

“HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” The “manliest” quality of my husband is that he takes care of our daughter (changes her, feeds her, puts her to bed, cleans after her etc.) with so much devotion. I think it takes a real man to be so committed and loving.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

The manliest thing about my husband and father of my children is his ability to stay calm when danger arises. Case in point, we got into a huge car accident last summer and my hubby kept all of us calm and laughing even as we dangled upside down until help came.

My guy’s manliest quality would probably be that he is unbelievably willing to go out of his way for me. He works so hard, but is never too tired to surprise me at work with dinner or write me a sweet note. We’re having our first baby next January & he’s keeping me calm & peaceful (as much as I let him) for all the first-time parent jitters.

The manliest trait of my guy? Definitely that he lifts heavy things for fun. And by heavy, i mean he competes in Strongman, so lifting cars, heavy stones, etc.

On anther note, this would be AMAZING to win because the his drill is dying. The battery now lasts about 5 minutes before it needs a recharge. So a new one is much called for and, since we JUST moved into our new place, money has been focused on other things….
