Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

The “manliest” thing about my dad is how he can use non-tools as tools (ie: meat cleaver to hack through some bushes, ha ha!)

My dad’s manliest quality is his ability to show affection to his children and grandchildren. He is a big southern man’s man but when it comes to his family he melts. I am blessed to have such a wonderful father.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

He’s big and tough and burly… but gentle and sensitive enough to gather up and raise baby ducks until they’re big enough not to be snacks for sea gulls. Love that combo.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!! I have two men I will be celebrating in my life…my husband, who is 3 months away from being a first time father. His manliest trait is he can fix anything. The second is my father, who’s manliest trait is the fact that he would do anything for his kids and grandkids.

The “manliest” quality of my Dad is his car knowledge… as a kid I never visited a car wash or saw anyone else have their head under the hood of our cars… darn me for moving 3k miles away from that knowledge…

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

The manliest thing about my dad is his drive. He’s always been a hard worker and at 59.5 sometimes still pushes himself for 24 hours of work. He’s a full time+ electrician and keeps 500 bee hives in his “spare” time.

Happy Father’s Day! The manliest thing about my dad is that he is never scared to be his unique, slightly different-from-everyone else (and the norm) self. He just marches to his own tune and doesn’t care what anyone thinks. But he is one of the most thoughtful, kind, generous and genuine people I ever came across.

    Happy Fathers Day!

This year, I’m celebrating Fathers Day, for myself. I’m a single mother, who has no manly man in her life. I have a stepstool, a small set of tools, and have had to get rid of my fear of bugs. I do it all, baby! I’m proud of myself for stepping up to the plate, doing what needs to be done, and teaching myself new skills. I’m pretty awesome, and I could really use an awesome drill to round out my awesome tool box! Happy Fathers Day to everyone who rocks at parenting, no matter what gender you are!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! The manliest, and what I consider the sexiest, thing about my husband and father to my three children is his ability to be the most patient and caring father I know. I am not close to my father, but seeing my husband interact with our two sons and daughter is priceless. Our daughter truly is ‘his Daddy’s girl’.
