Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My hubby isn’t a father, yet (except to our pups!), but whatevs…. he counts! His manliest quality that he works 12 hour days at his suit-and-tie job and then comes home and turns into Mr. Blue Collar– mowing, building, repairing, etc.. Best of both worlds. ;-)

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY. My dad is a DIY pro (and has been well before DIYing was cool :). He’s gutted and completely rewired (yes, to code!), drywalled, and plumped every house but one that he’s lived in.

    Happy Father’s Day!

My dad can pack cars, moving trucks, suitcases, etc like a mad man! Over the many years of moving around (2nd generation military family) I’ve watched him refine his skills and it still amazes me how much he can fit into one car.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

Yesterday we had a party for my dad’s 80th birthday. He wanted to give a speech. In it he went one by one through his grandchildren who had special honors this month- making them stand up and singing their praises. Then he went through all the recent birthdays. And on. The way that man loves his family and enjoys them and is proud of them…. that’s the manliest (and most inspirational) thing I could imagine.

    Happy Father’s Day!

The manliest physical thing about my husband is his deep voice. So sexy, though I’ve begun to take it for granted over the past 10 years!

The true manliest thing about him is how adoring he is of our 16 month old daughter, and how he will do anything for her, and how his patience has grown immensely since she was born. It takes a real man to make damn good pigtails.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

One of the best things about my dad is how well he deals with being surrounded by women on all sides (even the dog’s a girl). He is awesome at understanding us strange creatures, and doing all of the man jobs (such as bug slaying) by himself.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My honey and I do not have any kids yet. But the other day I said “my kids” (as in talking about future kiddos) and he corrected me and said “you mean our kids” It melted my heart. So I’ll be celebrating having a partner who is equally committed to having a family…one day :)

    Happy Fathers Day!!

I’m so impressed with my hubby’s ability to fix things and do projects around the house. He recently renovated a bathroom, to include tearing down and rebuilding walls, cutting into and re-pouring concrete after moving the toilet drain and installing a shower drain, building a shower base, tiling, drywalling – everything except installing the glass shower doors (which we left to the pros since they were so expensive and we didn’t want to break the glass or something)!
