Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    HAPPY FATHERS DAY!

We’re celebrating by having the whole family pitch in on a “clean-up grandpa’s yard/house” day.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

I love and admire how my husband, no matter what he is in the middle of, will sit down on the floor when our one-year-old daughter brings him a book. It is precious.

I also love/hate how her favorite toy is a screwdriver (with bit removed!)… Dad’s stuff is the coolest.

I love that my dad is the ultimate handy-man. Because of that, whatever man I marry has to be at least as handy and manly as my Daddy-O.

    HAPPPY FATHER’S DAY!

I love seeing the glimpses of his big heart – first through his interactions with his nephew and niece and then with my grandma (he would drive out after a 12 hour day to get her groceries/gas her car/salt the drive/etc), and now with our babies.

Happy Father’s Day! The manliest thing about my dad is that he is the hardest worker I know and always puts his family first. When we were little he worked 3 jobs so Mom could stay home with us, and he still made time to coach sports teams for both my brother and me. I have no idea how he did it and kept his sanity (or slept).

    Happy Father’s Day!

I am celebrating my husband. He is my hero. We have been togther through a LOT (including a deployment to Iraq back in 2004/2005) and he has gone from tough guy Marine, to sweet daddy in the last two years. We have a beautiful daughter and watching him play with her, put bows on his head, and buy princess band aids when she has a boo boo makes him the manliest man I know. Nothing compares.

The manliest thing about my dad is he really can fix anything. He can do car repairs, drywall, electricity, construction – really anything. He finished our basement when I was a kid, and we never had to call a repairman for anything. He’s a building engineer and teaches HVAC classes. Really sets the bar high for the other men in my life.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY…

My dad is a guy who could always fix anything. Self employed logger/sawmill operator/farmer who used his hands and wits to provide for us.

It is a great joy that he is still with us at almost 99 years. The most admirable quality now is the grace with which he faces the loss of his ability to fix things or even do the simplest tasks like cutting up his own food or attending to his own personal care. I expected rage, but see instead acceptance and pride in the small things he can still do.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

I wasn’t blessed with a great ‘dad’ opportunity, but I’ve known some men who are wonderful fathers! Martin from Poland, for example, who made macaroni and glitter jewelry with his 3yr old daughter for a Mother’s Day present. Can’t beat that!!! And, makes great furniture out of pallets.

Happy Father’s Day! My Dad’s manliest quality is probably his ability to master the honey-do list. If my Mom, Sister, or I give him a list of tasks we need done he’ll get right to work with no complaining and have the light fixture fixed, garden weeded, gutters cleaned, etc. in no time flat :)
