Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

When I was young, my dad (an engineer) would patiently help me through my math homework until I thoroughly understood what I was doing. He also taught me how to draw. Now, thanks to him, I am an architect…he has been a huge influence in my life!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

The manliest thing about my stepdad has always been the way he stepped up (no pun intended) to the role of being a father for my sister and me…I’m proud to call him “Dad!” It’s also pretty cool that he can actually build a house from scratch.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

Besides being handy, my dad is extremely driven to complete projects and isn’t phased by tackling new ones himself. This attitude also extends to his approach towards his family… he will stop at nothing to make sure we’re well-provided for (even sometimes at the expense of his own health). He’s the best father I could ask for!

    Happy Father’s Day!!

The manliest thing about my main squeeze is his ability to be sensitive and sweet, even around his buddies or other times when men usually puff up their chests and get tough. He is confident and sure of himself, therefore, doesn’t have to worry about crying in front of people, snuggling our friends’ new baby, or anything else sappy. And I love the fact that he looks big and tough and is the biggest teddy bear. Thanks for the fun giveaway!! I hope I win;)

I love the support I get from my dad. No matter what I undertake (engineering school, moving to Texas, buying my first home at 23) he’s been there to support me and offer his advice no matter what (with a few “I told you so’s” as he can muster).

My guy is an awesome dad to my cat — his manliest quality is being able to look completely hot while tempting my cat with a feather on a string. I swear he’s like a doting dad, taking way more pictures of my cat than I ever did. And he was almost as sad as I was when my other cat passed away. Nothing manlier than not feeling like a wuss for being sad over a cat dying.
