Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

The manliest thing about my husband is his ability to give our son a bath and check the baseball game at the same time. Love it!

Happy Father’s Day! Among my husband’s many manly qualities, the manliest (to me) is his massive collection of useless wires/cables. Also, he makes my breakfast, packs my lunch and cooks dinner every single day – very manly indeed!

I love that my husband can fix just about anything, build furniture, do the yard work, and still helps with all the “inside” chores! AND, his drill broke this weekend…he really needs a replacement!

    Oooh!
We just became parents of two young ducks and we’ve been designing and building their duck house and pen and this would be VERY handy. Seeing my fella cuddling with a cute duckling? Adorable! Seeing him walk around the yard with two rapidly-growing ducks at his heel? Super cute!

My Dad is a total provider, always looking for ways to help my sister and me. The first time my husband & I had him over at our new house, he was coming up with ways he could help us make our tiny little yard area into our own little urban oasis (he owns his own landscape/irrigation company). I think he is more excited about it than we are!

My dad’s manliest quality is his no-shame attitude toward baking. The man has a famous biscuit recipe (to die for if you’re a southern girl like me) and makes a mean apple crisp. He also will whip up a batch of cookies or blueberry muffins whenever you ask, as long as he gets to eat at least half of them! Just reading this, it sounds pretty girly, but my dad owns it and is proud of his skills in the kitchen. Super manly if you ask me!

We’ll be celebrating my husband! Our 4 year daughter thinks he can fix anything and she’s right! He’s such a smart guy and if he doesn’t know how to fix it or build it or wire – he’ll research and study it until he figures it out! I love him for that and many other reasons…and I love that our girls think he hung the moon!

Thank you for what you do!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!

This Father’s Day I want more than anything to make it super special for my Dad. He has always been there for me and my brothers, he’s the best Papa to my kids and I love him with all my heart. He’s battling throat cancer and it’s been so hard on him and my Mom. Earlier this year part of their fence fell down during a storm and this would be perfect for my brothers and I to use to fix it for them. I love you Dad!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! My husband rates as pretty manly in my book by being a great father, a wonderful husband and all around handyman. He’ll do anything from washing dishes and cooking to fixing cars, doing home repairs and carrying heavy boxes up four flights of stairs to dorm rooms (and down again at the end of the school year)! Our family is very lucky and appreciative to have him.
