Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

While we don’t have children yet, my husband absolutely deserves a day of celebration. We’ve had some rough times over the last few years, and his ability to carry on and work toward our future makes him the strongest, “manliest” man I know. Love him!!!

One of the manliest things about my man is his ability to slurp coffee from his coffee cup while doing other things: walking and slurping, cleaning out his truck and slurping, building a fence and slurping.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! The manliest thing about my husband is how hard he works and how much he sacrifices for me to be a stay-at-home mom. And at the end of the long work day, he always comes home with a smile, ready to wrestle our toddler.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY!! The manliest thing about my awesome boyfriend is his creativity and ablity to fix anything! We rent and he has made our house a “home” by adding special touches like a hand made cutting board, a handy-dandy hidden trash can drawer, and awesome built in desk. Not to mention he fixes cars, motorcylces, and made a gas powered blender so we can make margaritas while camping. :) The giftcard will definitely go to good use with him.

The manliest thing about my dad is how he knows how to play both roles… mother and father. He cooks, cleans, gardens, builds stuff, is a computer genius, great with money, grocery shops, and the list goes on and on. But the most manly thing about him is that he adopted me when I was 3. He truly stepped up to the plate as a MAN!!!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My dad’s “manliest” quality was learned from his mother: cooking. He is a spectacular chef. The youngest by years, he was his mother’s helper in the kitchen. He keeps her memory alive when he cooks.
The things he has taught me, both in the kitchen and in his woodworking shop (he restored an old mountain cabin in NH–cedar shingles and all, by hand.) As an extended family, we all trek up to the mountains to help, with promises of his homemade pancakes, or chicken wings, or hand mixed burgers as our enticement.
