Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!”

My Dad has had a career as an educator, but was never afraid to roll up his sleeves to be a very active parent. He was a stay at home Dad my first 3 years of life and was the primary chef in the house when I was growing up. Love my Dad! :)

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My dad is always busy doing something constructive around the house, whether it’s a “manly” task or not. He’s just as likely to be making dinner and washing dishes as he is to be mowing the lawn. I love that about him.

Happy Father’s Day!! My dad finished our whole basement from scratch almost by himself. I think the only things he got help with was putting up the framing/stud stuff and some of the plumbing.

Happy Father’s Day! The manliest thing my husband does is hang out with our kids, not to “babysit” or as a “favor” to me, but because, well, they’re his kiddos, too! I don’t have to relieve him of daddy duty ever. He actually thinks our babies are a blessing. I love that about him!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!

My dad is super handy (25 years ago, I was like Clara, pressed against the glass door, watching/admiring all the building going on that was bigger than me). In the past 3 years, since my brother and I have both purchased homes, my daddy’s spent countless hours and (generously, more than we wanted to him to) lots of his own hard-earned money at home depot on us. This would be a really perfect gift to give back to him (since he’s currently in the middle of helping me install a tile back splash, as well as installing new cabinets and counter tops at my brothers). This gift would be especially fitting for my dad, as he is very loyal to home depot. He will drive out of his way to go to Home Depot, regardless of the other nearby hardware stores, especially Lowe’s which is .5 miles away. It can be summed up in this very simply-put response/motto that I hear him exclaim at least 8 times a year: “Lowe’s blows.”

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

I am celebrating my Dad this Father’s Day – he seems to know everything! If I have trouble with my car, he’s the first person I call, not the mechanic. If my hubby and I are working on something in the house and something puzzles us or makes us nervous, we call my Dad.

I’m also celebrating my husband because although we don’t have human children yet due to some fertility problems, I know he will one day be an awesome dad. And in the meantime he is the best dad to our 2 dogs!

My husband’s “manliest quality” would be that he will find things on the side of the road that have been discarded by their owner and he will fix them. He has found and fixed our propane Weber grill, our lawn mower and even a weed wacker. There are really to many things to list!
