Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

Happy Father’s Day! My Dad is the best cook I know, and he can also build complicated stuff like it’s really no big deal. He’s also ridiculously generous. He’s the BEST!

The manliest quality is everything my husband does. He builds stuff, cooks, cleans, and loves our daughter and never complains about doing any of it.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! The manliest thing about my dad is that he can do it all: He has installed a skylight in his home, changed the oil in all my siblings’ cars, and has made me a dress.

    Happy Father’s Day!

Oh, my manly husband man! There are so many qualities….like how he takes the overnight feeding of our 7-week old so that I can be rested to wrangle a baby and a nearly-3-year-old boy all day every day…like how he doesn’t mind changing poopy diapers when the baby has a blowout ON MY LAP when he gets home from work…like how he has done the brunt of the manual labor as we have flipped our entire house and are working on doing so to the yard since we bought our home 18 months ago…like how he cries when our new babies are placed in his arms at their births…like how he can grill a mean hunk o’ meat on our grill… and the list goes on and on! (And I’m extra-gushy because today is our 7th wedding anniversary, and he’s the most wonderful husband I could have ever dreamed of… better than any Knight in Shining Armor, for sure!)

Happy father’s day! The manliest thing about my husband is the way he automatically goes into fix-it-mode when our six-month-old is crying. (He does the same thing when I’m upset, but usually I forget to appreciate it then!)

Happy Fathers Day! This year, my dad is going out on a limb and starting his own non-profit. This ministry is something he’s been passionate about for years, and now he’s dedicating his life to it. This is manly, because not only is he following his passion, he is doing this instead of working a “regular” job, and that takes lots of guts.

You can check out the baby stages of his ministry here: http://www.lawoflove.org

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

I love that my dad takes the time to help others with “manly” things! Our elderly neighbors’ water heater stopped working (on a Sunday evening) so he went and picked one up and installed it for her without complaint. She was so happy that she cried, but he’s always looking out for her and helps when he can.
