Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!

My husband’s manliest quality is he’s willing to learn to fix things even though he didn’t learn growing up.

I seriously just told my husband that he is the genetically-engineered offspring of Tom Cruise and Harrison Ford, so I have to say his jaw-line with stubble is my favorite father-part.

My father is the greatest man I have ever and will ever know – he is intelligent, compassionate, empathetic, practical, ambitious, dedicated and genuine. I think all of the rolled into one person is pretty manly!

Well I’m celebrating my Dad because he survived not one but TWO plane crashes. So I’m just lucky to be here since these accidents occurred before my birth. My dad doesn’t remember the incidents but my second cousin told me about the second accident when my father and grandfather crashed a plane into a wooded area. My grandfather carried my dad (who was a teenager at the time) to a farmhouse and when the door was opened they fell through and collapsed on the living room floor.

The story is crazy but true. My grandfather helped train pilots for WWII and they lived near a local airport just north of Pittsburgh in Butler country. Thus, I’m celebrating my Dad and Grandfather’s ability to persevere.

Hope everyone has a great Father’s Day :)

There’s nothing more manly than being a family man. My husband stays at home with our kids 2 days a week while I am at work, works hard at his job day in and day out, and still has time for projects around the house! He deserves a wonderful Father’s Day!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!! The manliest thing about my husband is that even though he is gone the majority of the time (active duty Navy) he does a great job of balancing the time he’s at home between his family and his projects on our house. He has missed over 6 months of the past year but still found time to build a retaining wall, backyard fire pit, install new garage doors, paint multiple rooms in the house, build basement storage, and much more!!

My fiance and I need to finish our stairs-the stairs from our first floor to our second floor, where our bedroom is!! Every other stair is not screwed in and SOMEONE (not me) could use the motivation of a new tool and a gift card to get his butt moving on that VERY important project that needs to be completed!

As for my father, I think the manliest thing about him is his endless need to support his family. My father will work tooth and nail to provide for his family. My father always makes sacrifices for “his girls.” He is amazing.

The manliest thing about my husband is the fact that he’s a solid rock for our family. No matter what we’re going through (having two houses on the market for 8 months, having a wife on bedrest for 3.5 months, having a preemie in the NICU for a month…) he stands strong and carries our whole family through. We love him so much, and we’d love to let him go roam around Home Depot for Father’s Day! :)
