Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

The manliest thing about my pop is his soft spot for all of his kids… we can never escape without a hug and a big smooch (and all 4 of us are 23+), his hugs still make me feel like a little girl. Love him!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My dad was always the Mr. Fix it around our house. I always found that to be a manly quality in him. I liked it so much that I gravitated towards that quality in my husband.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My dad is always interested in what interests me. On my bouts of eating certain foods, sports activities, hobbies, even the craziest stuff he always showed he cared about it if I cared about it.

    Happy Father’s Day!!

I admire my dad’s thoughtfulness. Also, he’s a very gifted architect and contractor, so I admire his oodles of design/build skills. And he would LOVE this drill…in fact we built some tomato trellises together this weekend and he mentioned he needed a new cordless drill to accompany his corded one…in retrospect..maybe that was a hint?!

I’m almost 40 years old and I STILL call my dad whenever ANYTHING at my house breaks! He has ALMOST every tool you would every need. If he doesn’t know how to fix it. He will research on how to fix it. The bonus is he never gives me a bill! LOL

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

My dad is THE Mr. Fix-It, he somehow always knows how to fix anything. Take apart a vacuum? No problem. Fix that weird noise coming from your car? Done.

My husband has yet to learn all the tricks of the trade, but he works so hard to provide for us. And he’s slowly but surely picking up tools as he goes along, learning everything he can. Pretty soon he’ll be just like my dad.

My hubs is incredible. He’s picked up this DIY thing so fast and now he’s building things and wiring things and he never had a father that did all that, so he’s really learning from my Dad which has been such a cool way for them to bond.
