Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! The manliest thing about my dad is his problem solving abilities. We just moved into a 1920s house and are quickly discovering many quirks. A phone call to my dad always results in advice and often a visit from him to help out!

Oh this would be a difficult decision between my wonderful husband or my dear little brother. My brother is single and says he doesn’t want any kids but he treats his twelve nieces and nephews like they are his own. On the other hand, my wonderful husband and father of our two young boys is my best friend. He is an unbelievable role model not just to them but to several of the neighborhood kids. Maybe, they could split it! Thanks! Happy Father’s Day!

    Happy Father’s Day!

Everything about my husband is manly! Especially when he is doing dishes, folding laundry, grocery shopping, changing diapers, reading bedtime stories, lending a supportive ear/shoulder, and making our two boys eyes light up when he walks in the door!

I am so thankful for all the handy men in my life. I grew up assisting my grandfathers, dad, and uncles with many fit-it projects. I find great satisfaction in being able to fix so many things myself- and way more than my boyfriend, but don’t tell him that ;-)

“HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” What I find manliest about my husband is watching him throw his manhood out the window for our little girls. It’s when I see him doing the hula hoop, using a hair straightener or squeezing in a little Dumbo plane ride because he can’t resist ” puh-lease daddy”

My dad’s manliest quality is not being afraid to hang with the girls–his wife and four daughters, that is.

My man’s manliest quality is not being afraid to hang with the girls while also giving my dad the son he never knew he wanted. They’re both the best :)

So many people just talk about what they could do, but my guy get’s it done. I also love seeing him build his tool collection, we live at home depot, the clerks have literally seen my belly grow as well as my doctor has!!

Celebrating my father, he is the manliest man I’ve ever met. Raised me since I was nine, and has never had any qualms with stepping up to the plate. He works hard every day to be the protector and provider.. If there was a zombie apocalypse, he’d be the first person on the way with all the supplies and weapons needed to kick butt. Haha
