Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

Happy Father’s Day!!! I love watching my husband let our kids (ages 2, 3 & 4) “help” in the garage. He’s so patient with them! And our 2 y/o daughter knows the difference between an air compressor and a generator, which makes him very proud.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! My father is surrounded by women (5 daughters, my mom, and mostly female farm animals…he’s clearly outnumbered), one of the manliest traits about my Dad is his ability to push us to fix it ourselves while still being our Dad. We’ve all inherited this unique gene that causes us to say “I could make that!”. Just this week, I’ve created 4 new projects using old barnwood and the skills that my Dad has passed on through the years. As we say in our house “Anything can be solved with a woodscrew!”.

The manliest thing about my husband is that he can back up and park any type of trailer within a 1/2″ of where it needs to be, no matter what tight limitations there are. He does it with a smile on his face the entire time.

Happy Father’s Day….I love that my hubby, the father of our son, feels good enough in his own skin, to be sensitive and caring to my needs and my son’s…to know that a guy who is a “jock” can also shed a tear over the first time my son took a step or the day he graduated with top honors…Manly, does not always mean a guy with stubbles, muscles, or a hammer at his side…it is being secure with your “manhood” to be compassionate and loving…and I am blessed!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!! I am celebrating my dear sweet boyfriend of four years, who is the “father” to our pups. He is a man’s man, a former Marine who is always making sure I’m safe and sound, even getting up in the middle of the night when I hear a suspicious noise or coming running when I scream because I see a huge bug. He is the greatest, and I love him so much!

The manliest think about my dad is that he’s a problem solver–if he can’t tell what’s wrong with something or how to fix it, he loves sitting down and figuring it out. And since he’s an engineer, he’s usually successful.
