Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! The manliest thing about my husband… hmmm.. he cooks, he cleans, fixes the computer, and the car, and when he doesn’t know how, he has no shame in asking friends/family for help! He also goes into work extra early so he can get off early to pick up our 2 girls from daycare and take care of them till I get home from work. He’s about as manly as they come :)

Happy Father’s Day!!! My favorite “manly” thing about my dad is that for the past decade he has been asking for a “power nailer because all real men have power nailers,” but when we bought him one two years ago he said it wasn’t manly enough and returned it so we bought him another one this year and he said, “what do I need this for?”

It’s really quite simple: This year we celebrate a First Happy Father’s Day! for a kind and unassuming man who finally became a father long after he thought (and hoped) it would happen. I see his “Father’s Gratitude” with the wee one everyday.

    HAPPY FATHERS DAY,

I’ll be celebrating my dad… The ultimate handy man… In my 25 years of existence we’ve had 2 outside professionals in my parents home… One to replace the roof and one to replace our entire AC unit. All those years of redoing floors, kitchens, bathrooms and he even took the house from a 3/1 to a 4/2 just before I was born all on his own. Quite the DIYer I’ll celebrate this weekend :)

plus he’s the greatest dad figure ever… Family is his true love

The manliest thing about my man is that he won’t know how to do something, will learn within a matter of minutes and then can be a pro. Whether it’s DIY stuff, computer stuff, cooking or music he’s a quick learner and in turn a great teacher. Our kids are lucky to have him as their Dad :)

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! The Hubs manliest quality is his amazing woodworking talent. I loosely described my dream, french farmhouse, butcher block style kitchen island and the man literally made it for my birthday this year. It is GAWJUS!! Butcher block top, thick turned legs, deep storage drawers….I get excited all over again every stinkin’ time I cut a vegetable on it!! It’s fitting my girlfriends have nick named him Bob Vila. ;)

Happy Fathers Day! The manilest thing about my dad is his ability to know when a project is beyond his skill set or when something he started fixing is out of his control. Then he’ll stop and call a professional to help him complete it rather then soldier on, possibly continuing with a home restoration project that won’t be safe in the long run or making a problem worse. It’s not always easy to admit you need help.

Happy Father’s Day! My dad can do anything. He’s a mechanic so he can fix any car problem. He’s a painter, a crafter, a gardener, and has the most amazing set of tools you’ve ever seen. He has single-handedly rewired our 100+ year old house, demoed and remodeled a kitchen, built a bicycle from scratch, and among numerous other things, is in the process of putting on a new roof. Extra money and tools would sure come in handy for that and I would love to be able to give it to him!

Happy Father’s Day!! I’d really love the opportunity to celebrate my amazing and talented husband. Rob is the kind of guy who will teach himself how to do or build anything, and I am always so impressed with his skills. Everything from our water heater breaking (he replaced the whole thing and the copper tubing!) to building his own boat, to fixing our pool, to building me a table from quick sketches when I couldn’t find one that I loved. I am so in love with this talented man and would love to be able to keep him building!
