Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! the manliest ting about my dad is his encyclopedia of how-to knowledge. He can have no idea how to do do a project but still let you think he knows how to get er’ done (and usually he’s spot on by the way)!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

What makes my husband manly and a great dad is how it dives right in to playing and story time with our 3 year old son. He loves reading to him and playing with all his old hand me down toys with him!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

The manliest thing my father has done, was to be so gentle and kind that people think he’s “the nicest guy ever” but so strong that, as my partner has said before, “I wouldn’t want to piss him off and then run into him in a dark alley!” Love that man.

    Happy Father’s Day!

My father was a career military officer who managed to stay together with my mother and raise two kids to healthy and productive adults. Possibly the manliest things about him are that he is still madly in love with my mom after more than 35 years together, and that he freely admits that he has no idea what the two of them did to end up with such good kids as us.

    Happy Fathers Day!

My son’s dad wasn’t around when he was little. My family always celebrated Mothers day and Fathers day for me since I was really filling both rolls! It was fun to build my tool collection every father’s day. My favorite was when my Dad gave me a compound miter saw with a laser guide.

My most “manly” trait was my ability to jump in and fix/try to fix almost anything around the house. I learned to paint, hang new lighting fixtures, switch out a sink, hang new shutters, add moldings, take care of the lawn and landscape and build furniture, etc. Books from the library and the friendly advice from the guys in the orange vest got me though all my projects with success.
