Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

    Happy Fathers Day!

The manliest thing about my husband would have to be his race car. Everything about that car screams MAN. That and the way he “rough houses” with our little boy. Its so cute.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!

Oh my goodness, where do I start?! I love my husband’s stubble and how it never quite fills in all the way. I love that he can cook like nobody’s business, without even using a recipe! I love how he can fix anything (house, farm equipment, ANYTHING). I love watching him wrestle cows to the ground (not for fun…if only there was a way to communicate with them so they would know that we’re just trying to help!). I think what I love most is seeing him play with our new baby girl, the way she laughs at his funny faces and noises, and how he is so protective of her.

Happy Father’s Day! We will be celebrating my husband’s first father’s day this year (after celebrating my first mother’s day, obviously). I think the manliest quality is the way he wears clothes with holes in it (shorts, shirts, underwear). Seems manly to me!

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! Ironically, my husband James is at his manliest when he is willing to do or play anything with our daughter. Though he may be pretending to drink out of a Hello Kitty cup, change a gross diaper, or dress up in a frilly hat, he’s super masculine to us!

The manliest thing about my dad is how he can fix just about anything, but knows when to call the professionals in. And I’m particularly impressed lately by the thought and care he’s putting into picking out the perfect song for the father-daughter dance for my wedding at the end of the month.
