Fab Freebie: Home Depot Gift Card & Tools

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

Thanks to random.org’s trusty randomness, we’ve got our winner and it is… Gretchen B (whose husband is “a mastermind with wood. He can make almost anything, at times he has surprised himself at what he canters up.”). That sounds familiar. Congrats Gretchen!

Sorry this post is a few minutes late (380 pages of book proofing = crazytown). But Happy Almost Father’s Day everyone! To help us celebrate, Home Depot is giving away an $100 man card, er, gift card so one lucky reader gets a fast and easy way to show their handy hubby/dad/uncle/brother/grandpa/neighbor how much they care… or how much they really want them to finish that project. Home Depot’s also throwing in a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit (valued at $150) because no tool collection is complete without a power drill and driver. Plus this one weighs less than three pounds and the battery lasts four times longer than your everyday battery. So guys, I’ll guess we’ll all have to come up with another excuse to take a break from our to-do lists.

Home Depot Fathers Day Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A $100 Home Depot gift card and a RYOBI 18V ONE+ Lithium Ion Compact Drill Kit
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what’s the “manliest” quality of the person you’re celebrating this coming weekend. Do you admire your dad’s ability to fix anything? Do you just love seeing the father of your children with a little bit of stubble? Or maybe the way your brother plays with your nieces earns him major guy-points in your book?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, June 13th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Home Depot.

Happy father’s day! I love how my dad seems to know everything about home repairs and then dryly explains that you learn these things when you are poor and things break.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! My father is super manly because when I was younger he was a constant real-world example of confidence. He ignored his teenage daughters’ embarrassment, and paraded around outside mowing the lawn wearing tiny short shorts and a mesh tank top.

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

I think the greatest things about my dad are how resourceful he is, how he always helps me out even financially when not even asked (such as fixing my car for free since he’s a mechanic), and appreciating the small things I give him in return since I’ll never be able to repay him for all he’s done.

The manliest thing about my husband is that he is overseas right now, fighting for our nation. We get to speak fairly often, and he is always calm, supportive and encouraging of me–despite the fact that he is the one gone. He is the greatest man I know!

I admire my boyfriend’s ability to fix anything on a car! He will take it to a body shop if he feels it’s too time consuming, requires more than 1 person (I’m typically useless), but if he had the time he could do it himself!

    HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

We’ll be celebrating with my maternal grandfather who helped raise me – he’s the manliest of men: a Renaissance Man. He pretty much built his house in 1960, he created a personal SCUBA suit before SCUBA was a thing, he was an electrical technician in the Navy Reserves, co-owned a tile contracting firm for several decades, and co-owned a 100+ year old hotel/apartment building for several decades. There’s not a DIY project around that he hasn’t tackled. And, at 76, his favorite activities are biking, kayaking, choir singing, and amateur astronomy.
