Fab Freebie: Made In Portland

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

As our time in Portland comes to an end, we’re excited to share that the random winner of this very Oregonian prize is… Joyce (who would go all the way back to the late 1700s to check out the Constitutional Convention). Congrats Joyce!

Since we’re headed to Oregon this week, we thought we’d send a little bit of Oregon your way in return. So how does $500 in product from Portland-based Rejuvenation sound? They started off as an architectural salvage shop, but now they serve up authentic lighting, hardware, and other home staples from a whole slew of time periods and styles. We’re hoping to make an in-person stop at their store while in PDX, but for everyone else there’s plenty to browse online and by catalog. And with a handful of benjamins at your disposal, this is your shot to get a real statement piece for your space.

Rejuvenation Giveaway

  • PRIZE: $500 to spend at Rejuvenation
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “REJUVENATE ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … if you could travel back in time and live in any previous era, what would you choose? Wanna live (or relive) the 60’s or 70’s love-fest? Prefer to try on the glam flapper days of the 20’s? Or do you want to go really old school and see how the colonists lived?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 22nd at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States or Canada (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Rejuvenation.

rejuvenate me! early 60’s…I’d love to see the way some of the cities I love looked like back then: New York, London, Boston, to name a few.

    REJUVENATE ME!

    (PLEASE!!!)

Is it awful that I would want to live during the 1860’s? What with the civil war going on and everything… Gone with the Wind is one of my favorite books of all-time. I love the history surrounding those years. I learned so much about the North and the South during my three years of living in Maryland. Outside of the fact that slavery was rampant back then, and our country had a lot to learn, there was so much promise and so much beauty in it. And those clothes. Sigh…

    REJUVENATE ME!!

Oh, why do I have to pick just one! I would love to spend time in the old west and experience to the boom of the gold rush, or visit London in the 1960’s or even the 1560’s, I would love to go back and see dinosaurs, I want to meet my parents when they were teenagers, I would like to see Paris in the 1920’s, or even book a ticket on the Titanic (yes I know how it ends, but knowledge is power, lol), you get the point :)

    REJUVENATE ME!

I’d only time travel if I was sure I could come back to the present. And I think the cigarette smoke of former times would irritate me – you know how it is when you step out of the time capsule and the stench is already in your hair and clothes? So could I go to the future instead?

How do you choose one person out of five thousand and growing? We just moved to Richmond, purchased a 100 year old house and your blog has been a huge support. At times I feel completely overwhelmed with the DYI projects and renovations (because money is tight); However, YHL makes you feel that you are not alone…and you can accomplish great things on a budget. Honestly, I think it would be hard to LIVE in any other time period. I appreciate my civil rights and freedoms; there’s no way I’m going back in the closet :)
But, if it was temporary, I’d love to experience almost any other era; especially the fifties, or the early turn of the century…
