Fab Freebie: It’s A One-derful Life

Toss on some old clothes, because four of you are about to get painting. This week’s giveaway will cover everything you’ll need, starting with $60 worth of Olympic ONE paint. ONE is Olympic’s new paint + primer in… wait for it… one. It hides stains, resists mildew, and survives scrubbing. And at about $25 per can, you’ll be able to score at least two cans with your prize (and maybe even an extra quart).

But you can’t paint without the proper supplies, so the folks over at StackExchange are also hooking up our four lucky winners with a bunch of stuff that we hand-picked for ya (cause we paint kind of a lot, actually). So we know good rollers, Frog Tape, a drop cloth, and a short handled brush can come in handy. If you still need another boost to get painting, head over to one of StackExchange’s 50+ community-driven Q&A sites. Their DIY channel in particular is always abuzz with topics like “What is low VOC paint?” or “Can you paint a popcorn ceiling?”

    One thing I want to know is what I should do with my huge wall. I want to do built ins and a electric fireplace (or even cheaper, a faux fireplace). Is that dumb?

    One thing I want to know is….how many times can you ask your husband to paint your kitchen to match your dishes? We’ve been in our house 7 years, and our kitchen was white when we moved in. My husband painted it yellow for me….and then painted it aqua a couple years later when I got these really cool lime and aqua dishes (which didn’t really go with the yellow). I’m ready for a new color. And possibly some new dishes. :)

    ONE THING I WANT TO KNOW IS…well there is more than one, how do faxes work, what will it take to keep my bedroom neat and organized for more than 5 seconds, how long will my car keep going, what will my future bring…you know the usual list of randoms. PICK ME PLEASE!

    why the previous owners painted the bathroom with sand-textured paint (???) and how do I get rid of it? Will primer and paint be enough?

    ONE THING I WANT TO KNOW IS….how to slow down time. I have a daughter that is a junior in high school and I am kind of freaky out about how fast time is moving and she will heading off to college in a few years and wasn’t she just a baby a few days ago, LOL!!!

    If my boyfriend and I will ever be able to fix up our first apartment?? I have been unemployed for months and just got a small-wage part-time job so we have not been able to update the apartment at all!! We don’t have matched bedside tables, I want to paint all the door trims. I want to paint a focal wall. I want to make a DIY headboard like you guys did out of the Ikea tables. I want to put pictures up. All of this costs money that we have not had. This prize would be a HUGE help to making the apartment seem like a home. He has not had a home in years and I want to give him that. He says the other apartments he had we just places to live!!

    What is the best way to remove wallpaper in a bathroom, when the sheetrock was not properly prepped (no mudding, not primer, etc..) before the paper was hung.
