Fab Freebie: If You Were Here

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

And the random winner who’s about to get their read and their DIY on is… Julie Smith (who said we’d see her at her desk in the office day dreaming of going home and painting her half finished bathroom project). Congrats Julie!

That’s the title of Jen Lancaster’s latest bestselling book – and if you enjoy the story of a young couple renovating their first home (ya never know… you just might), this book belongs on your reading list. Jen never fails to crack us up and we were flabbergasted when we she mentioned us last year on her blog. So now that her home improvement-tastic tale is landing in stores as a paperback this week, we thought a giveaway was in order. You’ll get a copy of If You Were Here plus a very special bookmark. Actually it’s a $100 gift card to Home Depot, so I’m sure you can find a better use for it than just keeping your page.

Jen Lancaster Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A copy of “If You Were Here” by Jen Lancaster and a $100 Home Depot gift card
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “IF YOU WERE HERE” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … tell us what we might see if we were with you right now. Perhaps we’d see the latest house project you’re in the midst of? Or the inside of the crowded subway you’re commuting on? Or maybe we’d see what you’re chowing down on over your lunch break at work?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, March 7th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The 48 contiguous United States (though we try to snag as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Penguin Books.

I LOVE Jen Lancaster and am so excited about her new book. Bitter is the New Black is still my favorite read.

Haha: IF YOU WERE HERE, you would see that I have not done laundry in ages because the line where I dry my clothes in the basement interferes with the space where I paint. I’ve been painting railings, hardware and also whipped up a cool abstract (link below) so there has been no space for clean clothes. Poor planning hanging my clean clothes over the art supplies (I’m working on that) but it is a hilarious reason to show up at work in the same outfit too many times in a row.

What I gave up clean clothes to paint:
