Fab Freebie: Housewears

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries.***

Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.

Lisa Leonard Pic1

I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).

And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

I love wearing hats. My hat collection is hung on the wall with a ribbon and the hats are then alligator clipped to the ribbon for easy removal to wear.

WEAR ME! WEAR ME! WEAR ME!!! I love Lisa Leonard!!!

We have an 1889 Victorian on the Mississippi River in Natchez, MS. From the tall ceilings to the single pain windows- sometimes I have a hard time finding new elements that look right in my old home. So I get creative.

Vintage hats hang on our hat rack in the entry way.

My husband’s family had a foreign exchange student that brought them Indian Saris as a gift. They are absolutely beautiful and although we do not wear them, our home does! We have one draped across the dining table for a splash of lime green and then I have one as a drape on a tall window next to the front door- that one is red.

I got some of the cutest aprons for wedding showers and I have them all hung on cute little hooked on my pantry wall. When the pantry doors are open the first thing you see is a burst of colorful aprons.

Finally, there is something so cute about a colorful pair of rain boots on the porch next to some flowers pots!

I don’t have any dual purpose fashion decor, but fully 1/2 my shelving space is taken up with my fiancee’s radio controlled (RC) collection! he flies them all the time and wants to keep them handy. It’s fine with me as long as I get the prime shelving real estate for actual books. Teamwork!

I would love to be able to display my purses (too many pets = too much dusting). Once a year since year 2000 I’ve allowed myself one designer bag for working so hard all the time. I buy classic designs so they never go out of fashion.

    Thanks!

Wear me! When I was younger, I had a great collection of Bakelite purses, silly me got rid of them. But I loved displaying them in my window box! Now, I’m currently trying to find a frame big enough for one of my grandmother’s very frilly antique apron. The material is almost like linen and you can see right through it. Sort of reminds me of something Lucille Ball would wear in I Love Lucy…I always did have a thing for awesome “cleaning” the house dresses. : )

WEAR ME! I don’t have the wall space now, but one of the first things I look forward to doing when I move is create wall art that is a functional jewelry hanger with some old frames and pretty vintage fabric.

P.S. I just discovered your blog through a friend and I’m slowly going through your archives – and loving everything along the way! Thanks so much for such a great resource and beautiful inspirations. And very belated congrats on the future beanette.

I keep my socks, camisoles, and undies in these pretty music-related decorative storage boxes in my closet. (I have even used the lids as wall decor in the past, since I don’t need to use the lids each day.) These would be cute above the bookshelves in my living room to store photos or sheet music.

Also, I *wish* I had more of my grandmother’s scarves to make into pillows.
