Fab Freebie: Housewears

*** This giveaway is no longer accepting entries.***

Ok, so maybe you didn’t get that bit of bling you wanted for Valentine’s Day earlier this month. Here’s your chance to rectify the situation with some personalized jewelry from Lisa Leonard Designs. She even sells home decor-related pieces like necklaces with a chandelier, paper lanterns, frames and a house key on them. If those aren’t designs after our own home-loving hearts than we don’t know what is.

Lisa Leonard Pic1

I’m not so good with the jewelry lingo, but word on the street (or at least from the pregnant lady standing behind me right now) is that Lisa’s hand-cut and hand-hammered sterling silver necklaces, bracelets and earrings are well-worth shouting “oooh, I love that one… and that one… and that one” in your husband’s ear. In fact, Sherry loved the earrings that Lisa sent her way so much that we recently bought a set for my little sister’s birthday. And they barely take them off (so yes, my sister and my wife are often at family events sporting matching earrings).

And if you’re having trouble picking a favorite, perhaps this will make life a bit easier: Lisa Leonard Designs is giving away TWO $100 gift certificates towards anything in her store, so our winners can snag more than one thing if they just can’t decide. Plus if you don’t win, they’re generously dishing out a discount to everyone else, so stay tuned for that along with our winner announcement on Thursday. In the meantime, here’s how to enter:

  • PRIZE: A $100 credit towards anything in Lisa Leonard Design’s entire collection
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “WEAR ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us about something in your closet that doubles (or that you wish could double) as home decor. Do you display your purse collection for all to see? Do you swag a scarf over a hook by the door for some color? Or do you have a favorite dress whose fabric would look awesome as curtains or an accent pillow?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, February 24th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All over the globe!
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

WEAR ME! I have curtains in the window in our closet that I wish I could magically clone and hang in my bedrooms two windows (the fabric has been discontinued). Our bedroom just has the cheapo paper blinds while our closet has the nice curtains….haven’t found anything I like as well yet!

    WEAR ME!!

Instead of storing it away in my purse rubbermaid bin, I keep my most favorite purse hanging on my closet door to serve as a catch-all for whatever doesn’t really have it’s place, but I don’t want to lose in my messy closet. Plus, I get to stare at my fav purse each day, even if I don’t always use it.

I display my earrings on a set of old shutters hung on my bedroom wall. My husband added some cup hooks to the bottom for hanging necklaces. Although I’d love to take credit for this fab decorating/organization idea, I followed suit after I saw one in my sister’s bedroom.
Here is a link to my blog post about it, although the shutters now have many more earrings on them!

WEAR ME! I have a beaded purse collection that I have no intention of using (I don’t go anywhere fancy enough to need one), but have every intention of putting on the wall someday in my bedroom. They are all white/ivory and they will look gorgeous! Kind of like a plate display, only with purses. :)

I really don’t use anything from my closet for decoration around the house, but I do use something from my son’s closet–a pair of shoes from when he was tiny, which sit on a shelf in the living room. They are so cute and they make me smile every time I see them! He is growing up so fast, I love having a daily reminder of those first few months with him!

I have a serious weakness for funky-patterned skirts — there are several that have always made me think they’d make great accent pillows or chair pads or something after they’ve outlived their wearability. Now all I have to do it learn how to sew…

To half hide my art deco mirror on my dresser that I’m just not feeling in my current rental space, I hang my many scarves off the corners. Easy access to a scarf when I’m running out the door, and adds a bit of colour to my room as well!
