Fab Freebie: Happy Fifth To You

It took you guys just a little under 6 hours to push this blogiversary giveaway to its 10,000 entry cap, so we’re here with an earlier-than-usual update on our randomly selected winner. That lucky person is… Britta (who’s currently living in baby/preschooler world so she hopes in five years she won’t “have to deal with someone else’s poop on a daily basis and to be able to sleep through the night!”). Congrats Britta!

For every blogiversary we try to do something special for that week’s giveaway. And this year we ran with the five theme and snagged five different $500 prizes for one lucky winner from a few of our favorite places: FLOR, HomeGoods, Joss & Main, Shades of Light and Z Gallerie. Which means someone’s gonna get a grant total of $2,500 to spend in celebration of our big five year blogiversary.

The five generous folks who are each giving away $500 aren’t just places we love, but also places that hold a special place in the our blog’s history (and future). In addition to being one of our first and most longstanding sponsors, Z Gallerie has dished out prizes for a blogiversary before – and was our first ever giveaway to break the 1,000 entry mark.

Richmond-based Shades of Light (also a long-time sponsor) has found their way into our home on several occasions (their local outlet makes us crazy). Plus we’ve got an exciting announcement about them that we’ll be sharing soon (secrets, secrets, are no fun).

Joss & Main is a newer favorite of ours, and they’ve invited us twice to curate sale collections on their site…. so we’ll always be grateful to them for making us feel like real designers – even if only for a brief time. Haha.

While HomeGoods seems to find their way onto our blog pretty often (like a $500 giveaway for you guys last week), one of our favorite instances was when they helped us makeover a local family’s living areas for them a while back.

And last but not least is FLOR, whose catalogs is one of our favorites to get in the mail. But more importantly, they’re gonna play an important role in our upcoming book tour. More details on that next week!

    In 5 years, I’ll have a five year old starting kindergarten! Hopefully she’ll have a little brother or sister and we’ll have upgraded from our townhouse to a bigger place with a nice yard for the kids and our sweet puppy:)

    FIFTH ME!!!!

    I just bought my first house with my fiancé… Packing as we speak!!! After the move I’ll focus on planning the wedding… So, in 5 years I see myself in this new house hopefully having completed many of the home projects on my list! And married… And maybe a kid or two?! Wow all that in just 5 years!!! Time flies :)

    Fifth Me! Five years from now we will hopefully have a second child, and little Gracie will be in school (yoikes)! I would love to be living in a different country, but we’ll see how that turns out!

    FIFTH ME!! In five years, my husband will be finishing up his medical residency. We’ll hopefully have a few more kiddos around and will be looking to settle down for good in a city we love!

    Fifth me! In 5 years I will be 36 years old and our daughter will be in 2nd grade! Wow! Hopefully we will have had our second child and we will probably still be living in our first home and enjoying our blessed lives filled with family, friends, and fun.

    FIFTH ME! No telling where we’ll be or what we’ll be doing. We’ve moved – together and individually (for deployments) – eight times since getting married eight years ago. No telling what the next five years will bring!

    My top FIVE list of “where I see myself in FIVE years from now”…
    #5 – Working with my husband, incorporating the FIVE things we totally love; art, design, decorating, pop-culture and God.
    #4 – Living in our remodeled “green” clean energy home.
    #3 – Celebrating my mother’s victory over ovarian cancer; which she’s currently battling.
    #2 – Finally being able to be a mom (hopefully to twins).
    #1 – Commemorating my 23rd wedding anniversary with my husband, by traveling to our top FIVE travel wish list: Spain, London, Argentina, Switzerland and South Dakota! Hahaha…I really want to see Mt. Rushmore :) (maybe in 5 years they’ll invent an airplane that can get us there faster!)

    I am in my first year of Graduate school for Library and Information Sciences. I’m hoping the risk I took of switching careers will have paid off and I’ll be happily working to spread literacy.

    In 5 years, our daughter will hopefully have a younger sibling, and our house will hopefully be 75% done-ish… or at least 75% more “us”! (As of now, I’d say we’re at 15% – lots of work ahead of us!)

    In 5 years hope maybe we’ll be thinking about moving from our starter home to our next one, and we’ll have a 6 1/2 year old! (maybe another one too?)

    Fifth me! In five years my husband will have been working as a doctor for five years (we are expecting his official license today!) And we will hopefully own a home … a dream of mine for the last 9 years of school. And our three little kids wont be as little :( love the blog!

    FIFTH ME!
    We really want to have our first baby soon and we’d like our kids to be close in age. So hopefully in 5 years we’ll have TWO little ones. We’ve already been in our current house for 3 years and even without any offspring we’re outgrowin the sucker. So I’m thinking a newer/bigger house is in the 5 year plan too.

    FIFTH ME! In five years, I plan to be right where I am now. Sitting in my livingroom, loving our fifth year in this perfect little house of ours… well… a perfect work in progress little house of ours. :)

    FIFTH ME! In five years, we’d like to have both of us be making our livings as performers, preferably in a nicer, bigger apartment with a doorman. Best of all, I hope that by then we have a new bedroom design and furniture. (Our full-size fairy tale princess bedroom set isn’t QUITE cutting it!)

    FIFTH ME! In five years I’ll hopefully have a kiddo or two. Professionally, hopefully I’ll be in a job that is a little more fun and a little less stressful. No matter what it will be an adventure.
