Fab Freebie: Get Your Fixture Fix

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries – see who won below!***

And the random person getting their fixture fix this week is… Anne L (who simply described the problem in her bathroom as: “Pink carpet in bathroom?! Nasty!”) Congrats Anne!

Got a bathroom that could use a new faucet? Or new showerhead? Or new just about every fixture? Well then you’re in luck. The generous folks at Moen are dishing out an ENTIRE suite of bathroom fixtures in your choice of three of their most popular collections: the modern 90 Degree, the sexy Voss or the classic Boardwalk. You’ll get:

  • Two bathroom faucets
  • A rainshower showerhead and matching tub spout
  • One 18-inch towel bar
  • Two towel rings, including their new retractable model
  • A pivoting toilet paper holder
  • Two double robe hooks
  • A curved Shower Rod

And just in case you’re not up for DIY-ing the install of all of these sparkly fixtures, they’re gonna toss in a $250 Visa gift card to help you hire it out (or to spend on another finishing touch to your new bathroom makeover). That’s a grand total of up to $1,600 in prizes. I’d say one of you is about to clean up real nice.

Moen Giveaway

  • PRIZE: A new suite of Moen bathroom fixtures (in 90 Degree, Voss or Boardwalk) and a $250 Visa gift card
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FIX ME” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … what in your bathroom is in the most desperate need of an update? Are you faced with old cracked tiles in your shower every morning? Does your mirror and vanity combo leave something to be desired? Or is your old leaky faucet enough to put you in a bad mood?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, Aug 22th at 8pm EST or at 10,000 entries (whichever comes first)
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: The United States (although we do try to wrangle as many international giveaways as possible)
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winner. Good luck…

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Moen.

    FIX ME!

We have two disabled people in the house who would love nothing more than to have a walk-in bathtub with seat. And I am starting to suspect the builder cut a lot of corners, including not putting in an extra layer of privacy drywall in the bathroom, nor possibly even using moisture resistant drywall at all. But failing that, it’s not SO bad… it could use a coat of paint and some new flooring (crappy linoleum).

FIX ME! My bathroom is exactly how it was when my wonderful new (to me) house was built in 1960. The tile is blue and black and halfway up every wall. Meanwhile the tub, sink, and toilet are pepto-bismol pink! The sink facet leaks and everything is permanantly stained or tarnished. There is a horrible sliding door on the tub instead of a curtain with fish etched in the glass. All it does is collect hard water gunk while leaking the occasional drop down the outside of the tub. It is impossible to clean, and I sort of want to office space it after ripping it out. With the tiling skills I used to redo my kitchen floor I can take on the navy blue carpet in this bathroom, and I found a local guy to refinish all the tile and the tub, but all those fixtures to replace would break my budget!

Please help, I’ll send you a before and after, promise!

I recently moved in with my parents at 53 while I transition into a new home that I am building. The bathrooms that I am renting are screaming “brilliant GOLD”. I would love to be able to change the fixtures before I leave and add a little modern to the legacy. Tiles and flooring are in great shape but it would also be nice to change the pinky beige toliet, sink, and tub. Was this really hip? My parents have been so generous while I go thru my “boomerang” phase. So please fix’emfor Bill & Louise.

My husband and I are closing on a house with a terrrible bathroom. The sweet couple we are buying from tried to modernize it by using faux “river rock” as tile on all surfaces…vanity, mirror, and shower. The rocks just happen to match the ones they used to landscape the backyard. We can’t wait to update it and would love the beautiful fixtures to boot!

FIX ME, PLEASE!! the walls around my bath tub are covered with Dollar Store vinyl table cloths taped to the dry wall. There is a bucket under the vanity sink because the faucet leaks. The reason is that it is “fishing season” and someone thinks that it is more important to be out on a lake rather than finishing our bathroom. Secret – when he goes to bed tonight he will find the new faucet I bought today, under his pillow. Think of the Godfather movie with the horse’s head in the gangsters bed.

I can’t figure out how to do a little redo in the bathroom without it turning into a major overhaul. Like a low flow toilet makes sense, but our old one has 4 bolts and I’m not sure if the floor tile goes under it or around around it and since I hate the floor tile anyways, I should probably replace it, and while doing that, it would make sense to replace the vanity which is too large for the tiny room, etc, etc.

Somehow it always ends up in my mind as a total overhaul…

Where do I begin with the bathroom problems. It’s just ugly all around. Despite several attempts to freshen it up there’s no escaping the ugly tiles, toilet, sinks and tub. Our goal is to renovate the whole thing, but we must do it one thing at a time as we get the money, which we all know is no easy feat.

Ah…where to begin?!? We look at floor to ceiling ceramic tile in shades of salmon and mint every day. The floor tile is dark green and white. Our toilet has a wooden seat cover. And to top it off, when you pull back our shower curtain, you come face-to-face with ceramic tiles that form a picture of seagulls in flight. Yeah. We can’t wait to DIY attack this mess!

We have a beautiful home that loves us back every day, except for one area. Our bathroom faucets are so poorly chosen that when you try to wash your hands you are basically molesting the back wall of the sink itself. I am a chef, so mix this with obsessive hand washing, it makes me crazy daily. Thanks
