Fab Freebie: Finishing Touches

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

We thought we’d finish off this year with a prize all about finishing off a major remodeling project (or even just a quick furniture upgrade) the right way. For instance, although we’re spending major time on tile and paint when it comes to our bathroom project – we haven’t forgotten about the little things like fixtures and molding. And when we completed our kitchen in 2008, we went to at least four stores just to find the perfect knobs and pulls. So, with that in mind, we bring you a fun little year-ending giveaway from Builder Resources (i.e. CabinetKnob.com).

While their URL certainly suggests a specialty in knobs and pulls (from tradition to modern and everything in between)…

CabinetKnob Knobs2

… they’re also a great resource for other finishing touches like mirrors, closet accessories, molding, vanities, sinks and even kitchen islands.

CabinetKnob Other Items2

And since we couldn’t bear to narrow their selection down for this week’s prize, the folks at CabinetKnob.com are graciously offering up an $100 gift card, so one lucky winner can snag anything their little heart desires from their entire site. Here are the deets:

  • PRIZE: $100 gift card towards any purchase at CabinetKnob.com
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “FINISH ME!” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …share how you plan to finish the year off right. A big New Year’s Eve party? Finally tackling some of this year’s resolutions? Or, like us, a quiet dinner for two?
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, December 30th at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: All 50 United States and Canada
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

With three little kids we don’t really do much right now. We might order in something good for after the kids go to bed and watch a movie but we never make it to midnight! When the kids are old enough to stay up we’ll do something more!

We should probably be finishing up the bathroom we’ve been working on (which the giftcard would be perfect for those finishing touches), but I can already tell you if champagne is involved, that probably won’t be happening. Most likely a quiet evening at home or hanging with a few friends.

We’re ringing in the New Year with a romantic dinner as newlyweds – 2009 was wonderful to us! We purchased our very first home and (just 10 days later!) were married on 10.10.09. We feel so blessed and can only hope that 2010 will be just as sweet. We have much home renovating to look forward to, so this gift would be greatly appreciated! *fingers crossed* :)

We plan to make a trip to Ikea on New Year’s Eve (about an hour away from our new house). Then we plan to paint one of our bathrooms on New Year’s Day! The last owners of our house loved grays and dark blues and we love light and cheerful so we have a lot of painting to do! We plan to paint the cabinets white and replace all the knobs so this freebie will come in handy!!!

    FINISH ME!

We always get together at my parent’s house and “eat-in” the New Year. We are much bigger eaters, than drinkers, so it just makes sense! The evening usually consists of Chinese take-out, Pizzas from Pizza Hut, Ribs from Sultan of Smoke, and something special from each of our own kitchens. Fun and games galore until midnight and then we go outside with our whistles and noise makers to make sure that everyone in the neighborhood knows it is midnight as well!

    FINISH ME!!!

While this has been one of the worst years of our lives, I was actually able to fulfill the only New Year’s resolution I had set for ’09. It was the year of health! On January 1st I set out to lose 75 lbs through the year. I have done that and now consistently run 12-15 miles a week. I am so excited to have been able to overcome so many obstacles this year that it will be one of those New Year’s celebrations where we will be exhausted from the year’s events, but exhilirated by the prospect of an unbelievable journey ahead!

We will be celebrating with family and hopefully a new baby that is likely to come sometime this week!
