Fab Freebie: Crib Your Enthusiasm

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

In honor of our new nephew’s arrival this week (he’s scheduled to come via C-section on Wednesday!) we’ve got the mother of all baby-themed giveaways courtesy of LaJobi Industries. They’re the makers of stylish baby and youth furniture and this week they’re giving away an eco-friendly crib and crib mattress to one lucky parent (or parent-to-be).

LaJobi Crib

The Dakota crib by Graco is their first environmentally friendly crib – it’s made from sustainable woods, the dark walnut finish is water based and all the packaging comes from recycled materials. Plus, it looks pretty darn good. You can read all the nitty-gritty details about it on Walmart.com, since they’re the exclusive retailer of the Dakota line (which also includes a changing table).

LaJobi Mattress

But an eco-friendly crib wouldn’t be complete without an eco-friendly mattress to pair it with. So LaJobi is throwing in a Serta Nightstar Eco Firm mattress, which is made from organic cotton layers. Together that’s a $330 package that should help both you and your baby sleep better!

  • PRIZE: LaJobi’s Eco-Friendly Dakota Classic Crib by Graco and Serta Nighstar Eco Firm Crib & Toddler Mattress
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CRIB ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what your favorite bedtime story is. Is it a classic like “Goodnight Moon”- or something more progressive like “Captain Underpants?”
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

    CRIB ME, baby!!!!!

I have so many favorite books from my childhood. But one that really sticks in my head was “Cloudy with a chance of meatballs.” In elementary school we participated in a program called SSR (sustained silent reading). Well my first grade teacher gave us all books as Christmas gifts that year. That was the book I got and I loved it!!!!!! I was pretty excited when they made it into a movie, however, the book is still better:~)

    CRIB ME!!!

My absolute favorite book was “Fanny’s Dream” by Mark Buehner. It’s about a country girl who gives up her “Cinderella” aspirations to marry the guy next door and ends up all the happier for it.

CRIB ME! And being new to the realm of bedtime stories (no kids for me yet, but I did just spend the weekend babysitting my 23-month-old neice), I don’t have a favorite yet. However, when my time comes – and we hope it’s soon – this crib would look swell with the f-r-e-e changing table I scored from neighbors. Recycling is eco-friendly too, yes?

CRIB ME – my all time favorite bedtime story has got to be “Here Comes Weezie.” It’s about a little girl who is in love with her sister’s dollhouse. One day she sneaks away to play with it and ends up breaking some of the furniture. It is just a super cute story that reminds me of being a little girl.

CRIB ME, please! This is a really awesome giveaway, I am so impressed! You guys really bring it with the giveaways.

My mom used to make up stories about this big-mouthed whale, and we’d beg for them everyt night! She has since told us how hard she always thought it was to keep coming up with variations to the story, but we never noticed. They primarily involved some people walking along the beach and getting lost in a big, wet “cave” only to later discover that they had walked right into the belly of a whale! We never got tired of it. My dad also used to read me Greek mythology stories from a book adapted for kids, and sometimes instead of a bedtime story he’d play Rummy 500 with me (the card game), which I have always preferred to Gin Rummy.

CRIB ME!!! (please, oh please, oh please!)

I love the beautiful dark wood and that mattress (their mattress mascot reminds me so much of Wallace and Grommit movies) and would love this environmentally friendly set for my home that is getting “greener and greener” all of the time!

My favorite bedtime stories for my kids are the ones my husband and I make up ourselves, but if you’re looking for an actual book, we love to read them the traditional fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm. So very different from Disney (not that we don’t like Disney), and always with a very good lesson learned :O)

Oh please, CRIB ME! Our first baby is due in April and we are a home improvement project waiting to happen! The baby is going in a room that is currently functioning as a giant storage space! NEedless to say, we have our work cut out for us.

I don’t even know how to choose my favorite book. I loved Are You My Mother but that is just one of many great children’s books. To this day, I love some children’s books more than my favorite adult reads!

Crib Me! :) Our son’s absolute favorite as a baby was I Love You Stinky Face, and now that he’s two it’s Click Clack Moo, hands down ;) Easy stories that he can retell himself ~ oh, and he also loves reading a Bible story from his own bible every night ~ it usually ends up being David & Goliath and it goes something like this “Gowiath, you be nice! I throw a rock! Yay, Dapid (David) you’re a weerhoa! (hero)” So cute! Thanks for a fabulous giveaway, it’s a beautiful crib and an organic mattress for lil’ man would be awesome! Have a great week!
