Fab Freebie: Crib Your Enthusiasm

***This giveaway is no longer accepting entries***

In honor of our new nephew’s arrival this week (he’s scheduled to come via C-section on Wednesday!) we’ve got the mother of all baby-themed giveaways courtesy of LaJobi Industries. They’re the makers of stylish baby and youth furniture and this week they’re giving away an eco-friendly crib and crib mattress to one lucky parent (or parent-to-be).

LaJobi Crib

The Dakota crib by Graco is their first environmentally friendly crib – it’s made from sustainable woods, the dark walnut finish is water based and all the packaging comes from recycled materials. Plus, it looks pretty darn good. You can read all the nitty-gritty details about it on Walmart.com, since they’re the exclusive retailer of the Dakota line (which also includes a changing table).

LaJobi Mattress

But an eco-friendly crib wouldn’t be complete without an eco-friendly mattress to pair it with. So LaJobi is throwing in a Serta Nightstar Eco Firm mattress, which is made from organic cotton layers. Together that’s a $330 package that should help both you and your baby sleep better!

  • PRIZE: LaJobi’s Eco-Friendly Dakota Classic Crib by Graco and Serta Nighstar Eco Firm Crib & Toddler Mattress
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “CRIB ME” and…
  • BONUS QUESTION: …tell us what your favorite bedtime story is. Is it a classic like “Goodnight Moon”- or something more progressive like “Captain Underpants?”
  • GIVEAWAY CLOSES: Wednesday, October 21st at 8pm EST
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: One
  • PRIZE SHIPS: USA only
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winner will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday. Good luck!

CRIB ME!!! Actually my favorite book to be read bedtime stories from was a book that had a bunch of common stories like The Three Little Pigs, but also had ones like The Wax Boy. It belonged to my maman when she was a little girl, and I love it more than any other book from when I was young.

My favorite, although not a book, were the stories my mother would make up and tell me. Such a creative and wonderful woman, I hope to be the same to my children.

    CRIB ME!!!
I grew up in Italy/Venezuela, and my parents used to read me an Italian story that was titled (translated) “the big small chocolate house” in both Spanish and English… However they said that not too much reading was going on at night because I used (and still do) to fall asleep within a minute or two hahahaha!

Goodnight Moon but we’ve been reading Wizard of Oz every night and switching to a new book after that’s done. It’s a little something to keep our baby girl used to our voice which hopefully, she’ll recognize when she’s born.

So I wasn’t ever super into the whole always reading (or being read) a book before bed, but when I couldn’t sleep, my mom would have me read from these old Bible story books she had when she was a kid. I always felt a little heretical (even at a very young age) reading Bible stories to fall asleep, but it worked every time.

Right now we are reading my bump “Der Regenbogenfisch” or the Rainbow fish, in German. I read it to our poptart in German, but my husband doesn’t speak German so he makes up his own stories which often involves gangs or buying your friends. Gotta love his imagination!
