Fab Freebie: City Love

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

This week’s TWO lucky winners are… Maria G (who loves Kansas City despite being under 12-15″ of snow at the moment) and Fiona (who loves her hometown of Washington DC so much she even loves the traffic). Congrats you two!

Today marks the seven year anniversary of our move to Richmond, VA. Woo hoo! It’s crazy to think that it has been that long, and to celebrate this week’s giveaway is from a city-minded artist: Kimberly of Albie Designs. We’ve had her charming illustration of New York City hanging in our hallway o’ frames for as long as there has been a frame collection there (my sister bought it for Sherry for her birthday a few years back). And now Kimberly has released a Richmond city print. So whether you want her new RVA work of art, or others from around the country (and even the globe) you’ll get your pick thanks to the $100 gift card that she’s offering up to two lucky winners.

Albie Designs Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card to Albie Designs on Etsy
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I LOVE [INSERT CITY NAME HERE]” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why you love it so much. Is it a city you’re just thrilled to live in? Is a place that always makes you happy to visit? Or maybe it’s a city that you’ve never been to, but fantasize about visiting?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Huzzah! This giveaway is available worldwide.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Albie Designs.

What an amazing give away! My favourite city is Cape Town in South Africa, where we spent part of our honeymoon. It was just amazing and we always dream of going back. We loved it so much because of how beautiful it was, amazing scenery and a whole beach full of penguins you could walk right up to – penguins are always a winner in my book!!

I love London – it’s the city where I had fun! Moved there for university, met my husband there, worked in the West End theatre world, and then left when we decided it wasn’t so much fun as grown ups. :-(
Now we live by the coast with our three children which we also love, and London is where we go for holidays to visit my siblings.

I’ve been there two times and I’m going again Tuesday next week. What I love about it is that it’s strange enough to still be exciting but at the same time it’s already familiar enough to me to almost feel like home. Brilliant <3

    I LOVE YORK!

York is hands-down the most stunning, romantic, interesting, and beautiful city I’ve ever set foot in. The mix of Roman, medieval, Gothic, and even Georgian architecture makes you feel like you’re living in a film set. Going to York is like going home for me, even though I’m Canadian! I was happiest when living there though, and wish I could return.

Travelling solo doesn’t have to mean travelling alone! Tours attract a lot of solo travellers, as well as couples and small groups of friends, and although the group mix inevitably varies from trip to trip, the camaraderie is usually very good. Travelling as part of a group means that you can share your incredible travel experiences with a group of like minded people

Louisville is mostly known for the Kentucky Derby but it seriously has Incredubly talented people, the most restaurants per capita in the US (which are crazy delicious), and parks designed by Olmstead himself (he designed Central Park in NYC). It’s a fantastic city and we hope to love here forever.
