Fab Freebie: City Love

***This giveaway is now closed – see who won below!***

This week’s TWO lucky winners are… Maria G (who loves Kansas City despite being under 12-15″ of snow at the moment) and Fiona (who loves her hometown of Washington DC so much she even loves the traffic). Congrats you two!

Today marks the seven year anniversary of our move to Richmond, VA. Woo hoo! It’s crazy to think that it has been that long, and to celebrate this week’s giveaway is from a city-minded artist: Kimberly of Albie Designs. We’ve had her charming illustration of New York City hanging in our hallway o’ frames for as long as there has been a frame collection there (my sister bought it for Sherry for her birthday a few years back). And now Kimberly has released a Richmond city print. So whether you want her new RVA work of art, or others from around the country (and even the globe) you’ll get your pick thanks to the $100 gift card that she’s offering up to two lucky winners.

Albie Designs Giveaway

  • PRIZE: An $100 gift card to Albie Designs on Etsy
  • TO ENTER: Comment on this post with the words “I LOVE [INSERT CITY NAME HERE]” and tell us…
  • BONUS QUESTION: … why you love it so much. Is it a city you’re just thrilled to live in? Is a place that always makes you happy to visit? Or maybe it’s a city that you’ve never been to, but fantasize about visiting?
  • NUMBER OF WINNERS: Two
  • PRIZE SHIPS: Huzzah! This giveaway is available worldwide.
  • USUAL STUFF: One entry per e-mail address is permitted. The winners will be selected using random.org and announced on Thursday as an update to this post. That’s right, come right back here on Thursday for the announcement of our winners. Good luck…
  • ***COMMENT ISSUES? If you’re trying to enter but keep getting a “duplicate comment” warning, click here to see how to solve it!

Note: We aren’t paid or perked for hosting these giveaways, we just do ‘em to thank you awesome folks for stopping in. See our Giveaway FAQ page for more info. Pics courtesy of Albie Designs.

    I LOVE LIVERPOOL!

Spent a year there for my masters and had so much fun! Full of history and culture and close enough to London and Manchester! Seeing that I’m not a big city girl it’s perfect.

    I LOVE Edinburgh, Scotland!

Why? Because my sister and I took our first backpacking trip there and it was magical!! (Plus, I’m more of a small town girl, so when it comes to cities… I don’t have many favorites!)

I LOVE PARIS! I’ve been a bit obsessed with it since…well, as long as I can remember. I have a tattoo of the Eiffel Tower on my ankle and my husband proposed there – it’s just a magical place!

And even though it gets it’s fair share of putdowns, I still love my hometown of Cleveland – there are a lot of great things about this city!

    I love AMSTERDAM!
And not for the reasons you’re thinking! I went there on a mission trip 2 years ago and we spent most of our time at the church we were helping in Noord Amsterdam but for one day we got to go into the main city to do a little sight seeing and it was so beautiful! All of the canals, the rich centuries old architecture.. it was my 1st and only trip to Europe and its the 1st place I want to go to when I can afford to travel outside the U.S. again so I can discover it at my own pace!

I LOVE…literally every city I’ve ever been to. I love so many cities. I firmly subscribe to the whole “bloom where you’re planted” philosophy, so I have incredibly fond and meaningful memories of everywhere I’ve spent any significant amount of time. I grew up in Indianapolis, studied in London, and spent two summers growing tremendously near Portland, Maine. This is getting really gushy, but really, I just feel fortunate to have my heart in so many places.

I LOVE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD MY FAMILY IS TOGETHER!!!! As a military family we’ve had the opportunity to live in many fantastic locations all over the US, and I’ve discovered I can love anywhere as long as we are all together. Two weeks away from yet another long-term deployment, I know I’ll still love where we live, but it won’t be “home” until my husband walks back in through the door.

I didn’t always love it. For years I longed for the Pacific Northwest. Now that I’ve settled in with my own little family, it feels like my place. It’s right at the edge of The South, there’s amazing music and the history is fascinating – from the Underground Railroad to the German immigrant neighborhoods. Love it!
